#eulora Logs for 14 May 2016

May 14th, 2016 by Diana Coman
alikim: jurov: yeah, I need to add that too, how do you do it, memorize when keys arrive and give them some time to decay? [01:24]
alikim: how much are cft, say q100, and how much are bp to make them, also say q100? [01:27]
diana_coman: alikim, I can sell 284 cft at q109 for 265 coppers each [02:27]
diana_coman: I can sell some cft bps q32 only, 20 coppers each [02:29]
alikim: can I have 35 of them? [02:29]
diana_coman: sure [02:29]
alikim: kk I'll bein town in amin [02:29]
alikim: do you have change, I don't have the exact amount [02:32]
diana_coman: 35Ã\u0097265 = 9275, I have change, yes 1 min [02:32]
diana_coman: just the 10k coin [02:33]
alikim: thanks! [02:34]
diana_coman: yw [02:34]
alikim: it's funny how this game follows ancient believes that the sky is solid and is a sphere [03:19]
hanbot: diana_coman, tokens are ready [04:05]
diana_coman: yay [04:07]
diana_coman: trade me hanbot [04:07]
diana_coman: thank you [04:08]
hanbot: &you. [04:08]
hanbot: heh [04:08]
diana_coman: lool [04:08]
alikim: diana: can I buy 25 of those bps? [05:38]
alikim: somehow missed you message that you have them [05:48]
alikim: gz mircea [06:00]
jurov: alikim lol no, just throw all keys after login [08:56]
mircea_popescu: holy shit 11! [09:20]
mircea_popescu: alikim :) [09:21]
mircea_popescu: not coincidental. lotta ancient beliefs it follows. [09:21]
mircea_popescu: jurov what if you have an ord you forgot to storage ? [09:22]
alikim: jurov: ouch, I made the bot to log all keys ids with timestamps, so now it throws out all keys older than 24 hours [09:31]
mircea_popescu: does it filter out for non-small/tiny ? [09:32]
alikim: mircea: I only find tiny claims and I don't leave them locked so no, but yes I'll have to add more filtering later [09:35]
alikim: I hope there won't be so many non-decaying keys, so instead of throwing them out I can just pull them from storage and manually check [09:36]
mircea_popescu: well, nobody came up with a \% figure so far, so you can always do that an' call it research [09:41]
alikim: I'll start using this log today and from now on I'll tell you exactly [09:42]
mircea_popescu: pretty cool. [09:42]
mircea_popescu: in other news : i've been doing this bottle run for a while now. as it happnes it has almost exactly 5k OC. i'm about 5k bottles in or so. this means i oc'd a total of say 25mn in the past 3-4 days it's been going. [09:43]
mircea_popescu: i got a 11 mn and a 4mn pop. without THOSE TWO CLICKS, i'd be under the water about 50\%. with them however, i'm 10\% profitable. [09:44]
mircea_popescu: difference betweeen 4998 and 5000 clicks. [09:44]
alikim: yeah hofs help ;) [09:44]
alikim: how big is ath? [09:45]
mircea_popescu: last night i was kinda waffling on the topic, "hey this craft ran for so long and it's underwater, kill it already". [09:45]
mircea_popescu: all time high ? [09:46]
alikim: yes [09:46]
mircea_popescu: http://trilema.com/2016/eulora-hall-of-fame/ << this'll prolly be of interest to you. like 25 or so iirc ? [09:46]
lobbesbot: Title: Eulora Hall of Fame on Trilema - A blog by Mircea Popescu. (at trilema.com) [09:46]
mircea_popescu: no, 17. [09:46]
mircea_popescu: but the bitch is : the reporting's not been terribly accurate historically. for instance i got 40mn worth of samovars base value (362 pieces, prolly worth more towards 100mn market rate) that wasn't reported at all. [09:47]
mircea_popescu: grenadine also got like 50k tpt last year (off a tiny no less!) that's also not in there. [09:48]
mircea_popescu: and prolly others [09:48]
alikim: still nice [09:48]
alikim: how these hofs come? into your inventory or into a claim or table? [09:50]
mircea_popescu: into table like normal loot [09:51]
mircea_popescu: if overflow goes to inv. [09:51]
mircea_popescu: anyway, it's rather becoming a crafter's meta-skill, this. to somehow intuit when a craft's doing okay and when it's rotten. [09:51]
alikim: should be the same for exploring, I haven't had time to look at yet but it has its spikes as well even at my level [09:53]
mircea_popescu: aha. [09:53]
mircea_popescu: that's the other thing : it's not as bad for noobs. they don't lose much, can't gain much. as you level up though the skies open up so to speak. [09:54]
mircea_popescu: alikim what's hof ? [09:57]
alikim: hall of fame [09:58]
alikim: what you call pop [09:58]
alikim: ath = the biggest hof [09:59]
mircea_popescu: ah i c. [09:59]
mircea_popescu: ud knows one, not the other :) [09:59]
mircea_popescu: (ud = urban dictionary) [09:59]
alikim: they should play more ;) [09:59]
mircea_popescu: lol [09:59]
mircea_popescu: really ath comes from trader dweebs i think. [10:00]
mircea_popescu: course they also think themselves payas n' shit so it all works out. [10:00]
alikim: I've always been more of a miner than a crafter [10:06]
alikim: but I'll get to crafting a bit later [10:06]
alikim: turning my account into AH is the last resort [10:08]
mircea_popescu: eventually you'll be able to buy/hire npcs [10:39]
mircea_popescu: sorry for teh inconvenience meanwhile. [10:39]
mircea_popescu: (and i mean that buy literally - there will be slavery in eulora. up to each lord/township to decide if allowed in the perimeter.) [10:40]
alikim: ancien believes huh? all right, thanks for the heads up ;) [10:48]
alikim: will there be free land for exploration or everything will be under ownership? [10:50]
zakorus123: good morning [10:58]
diana_coman: mircea_popescu> anyway, it's rather becoming a crafter's meta-skill, this. to somehow intuit when a craft's doing okay and when it's rotten. <- I think it's more a matter of being rich enough to just keep going until eventually you are in the green [11:10]
alikim: diana: can I buy 25 cft bps you mentioned earlier? [11:38]
mircea_popescu: alikim the way to acquire ownership of land will be to select a plot (sized as current map) and claim it as your own. but in general, game map = infinity of plots. [11:56]
mircea_popescu: (and i mean infinity literally - 2^32 - 1 by 2^32 - 1 plots.) [11:57]
mircea_popescu: diana_coman money surely helps. [11:57]
mircea_popescu: alikim then if you develop that plot - at first it's just an inn or w/e - but eventually you get walls around it and stuff, at which point you can claim a certain radius around it for tax. depending how developed you are etc. so then you get a certain \% off people mining/crafting there results, or else they can buy a timed pass if you issue those. [12:01]
mircea_popescu: the downside being that spawned mobs will start attacking you, so you gotta spend on upkeep. and if they win... there goes your town. [12:01]
mircea_popescu: mob spawners will be related to down development, majesty style if you ever played that. so the higher you build the tower the tougher it gets to defend it. hopefully you have enough mercs, gold, friends etc. [12:02]
alikim: sounds fun [12:03]
mircea_popescu: ;) [12:04]
alikim: it's all based on fighting mechanics [12:04]
mircea_popescu: well basically... suppose you have a town so-and-so developed, which creates so and so base value of mobs spawning / tick. [12:05]
mircea_popescu: now suppose you... pop! and get a dragon coming for your town. [12:05]
mircea_popescu: same mechanism - pops aren't always good tho :) [12:05]
mircea_popescu: (ie, the idea of fairness is to allow player to take either side of the same mechanism. so - craft, maybe you pop. or administer town and hope you DONT pop.) [12:06]
mircea_popescu: but otherwise, castle is essentially a large, stationary, hunting grounds. rather than you go into forest by self, or hire a bunch of npcs - build town. then mobs come over by themselves ; and you loot them just as well. [12:06]
mircea_popescu: sort of stage 3 of hunting. like irl. [12:07]
alikim: I'd rather be involved in pure exploration with some cool twists then deal with castles management and social stuff [12:09]
mircea_popescu: hey, each his own. [12:09]
alikim: not sure what kind of twists exploration might have [12:10]
mircea_popescu: but re tax : it won't work like tax usually works, ie, someone steals your hard earned shit. instead, the tax you pay is a CREDIT to you. specifically : if you say have picks that decay 1000 per hit, and use one once in a land with 50\% tax, you get credited by game as if you had spent 1500, not 1000. [12:10]
mircea_popescu: meh. 2000, not 1000 i mean. [12:10]
mircea_popescu: so then you get loot, suppose 2000, and obviously pay your tax of 50\%. means castle owner gets 1k, and you get the 1k you'd have got anyway, if you mined in a land w/o tax. [12:11]
zakorus123: diana_coman your click is done [12:11]
zakorus123: :) [12:11]
mircea_popescu: so for this reason, the higher the castle, the better stuff around it. [12:11]
mircea_popescu: meanwhile, the higher the tax, the higher the env pressure puts on the castle in question. so the lord will strive to tax AS HIGH AS POSSIBLE! just like irl, back i nthe medieval days. [12:12]
mircea_popescu: ie, tax is good for players. [12:12]
mircea_popescu: so there's an example of a twist right there : do you use your picks next to Fort Kickass, and dodge all the angry invisible bloodsucking bats and five story tall ogres ? better loot. maybe you die. [12:13]
alikim: so if you die you lose the account? [12:14]
mircea_popescu: well no, you're supposed to marry and have kids. [12:14]
mircea_popescu: pick a kid to continue the family line. [12:14]
mircea_popescu: and will haveto you know, select wives properly to give you the talent you want. say you want a mage. well... fuck some elf chicks. [12:15]
alikim: but you can't play two chars at athe same time? [12:15]
mircea_popescu: nope. [12:15]
mircea_popescu: if you wanna move on, can just retire the old guy. make him a nice opium den or w/e. [12:16]
alikim: so you switch to one of your kids when you die and then to his brother if he dies? [12:16]
mircea_popescu: no, his brothers become npcs. [12:16]
mircea_popescu: you'd better marry him and get some offspring before you start risking its neck. [12:16]
alikim: there must be a gift of immortality in there somewhere [12:17]
mircea_popescu: yeah, there's lines you can pursue to become immortal. but it won't be common. [12:18]
alikim: given by the biggest dragon [12:18]
mircea_popescu: such as becoem a lich and fuck everyone's shit up. that'll be the ultimate griefing thing. [12:18]
mircea_popescu: vampires ; ents ; a few other contemplated. and yes eventually you should be able to kill a god and become the god instead. [12:18]
alikim: I'll screw immortal chicks and godesses, maybe some good will come out of it [12:20]
mircea_popescu: i suspect part of immortality includes removing the bits in question. [12:20]
mircea_popescu: but i suppose a bj from a divine being can't be all that bad. [12:21]
alikim: divine being can give you much more than just a bj [12:22]
alikim: ;) [12:23]
mircea_popescu: lmao [12:27]
mircea_popescu: anyone selling low cft bps btw ? [14:29]
mircea_popescu: like q 10ish [14:29]
diana_coman: mircea_popescu, I can sell 1 stack of cft bps q9 [14:37]
diana_coman: alikim> diana: can I buy 25 cft bps you mentioned earlier? <- sure [14:37]
diana_coman: probably best ping me with whole name alikim so I see it [14:38]
mircea_popescu: diana_coman how much ? [14:42]
diana_coman: hm, 50k total [14:51]
diana_coman: mircea_popescu, ^ [14:51]
diana_coman: in other consideration news: put 1 mn in, without considering even the cost of the consideration itself, got about 370k out as bv bps [14:54]
jurov: <mircea_popescu> jurov what if you have an ord < hahahaHAHAHAHA [15:06]
jurov: some people are buying literally "pls 5BTC just so that I don't have to care fo several months" [15:07]
jurov: presumably to plow whole world with chetty sticks... but I find such a burn rate abhorrent [15:08]
jurov: (and yes, this means I am almost out of the 10 BTC i received for this purpose in March or so) [15:11]
jurov: but let's undisgress, yes I do filter tiny small etc. keys [15:18]
mircea_popescu: diana_coman 5g each ? yeah i can do that. in town plox [15:23]
diana_coman: kk, 1 min to take them out [15:23]
mircea_popescu: jurov hey, everyone plays like they play ya ken ? [15:23]
jurov: yea, and everyone has their opinions like they have, too :D [15:24]
mircea_popescu: hehe yea. [15:24]
mircea_popescu: anyway, i got 5 ords in about an hour of mining last i did it. [15:24]
mircea_popescu: chetty sticks :D [15:24]
diana_coman: mircea_popescu, trade [15:27]
diana_coman: lol? [15:28]
diana_coman: 1mn for ...50k? [15:29]
mircea_popescu: aw [15:29]
mircea_popescu: mah bad. [15:29]
mircea_popescu: ty [15:29]
diana_coman: have fun [15:29]
diana_coman: pondering if to click an apprentice tink to get yet again the craft-table plans that are totally useless [15:30]
mircea_popescu: :p [15:34]
Birdman: i might have a bunch of those bps lemme see [15:34]
mircea_popescu: it's so fucking epic when i see my bottle, and a bunch of feelings, and then THREE BOTTLES and more feelings etc. [15:37]
Birdman: i've around 25k cft bps q36-38 if you're interested mircea_popescu [15:37]
mircea_popescu: yay! [15:37]
mircea_popescu: Birdman sure. how much ? [15:37]
Birdman: yeah congrats on 11mn pop on ltf! [15:37]
Birdman: so one single click was 11mn you got? [15:37]
mircea_popescu: yeah. [15:38]
Birdman: 514k [15:38]
Birdman: and thats pretty nuts [15:38]
mircea_popescu: 2000x [15:39]
mircea_popescu: or thereabouts. [15:39]
Birdman: 308\% i thought [15:39]
mircea_popescu: i meant the pop. [15:39]
diana_coman: is taking notes on how to price bps [15:39]
Birdman: oh, yeah [15:39]
Birdman: got his notes from diana_coman [15:39]
diana_coman: lol [15:39]
mircea_popescu: anyway, i'm willing to go 400k, if you want it. [15:39]
Birdman: its the same \% over qabv [15:40]
Birdman: nah [15:41]
Birdman: in fact i retract that deal [15:41]
mircea_popescu: well mebbe after i digest this stack we talk moar. [15:41]
Birdman: may as well shred them [15:41]
mircea_popescu: suppose i trade you q 200 bps for your q 40 bps ? [15:41]
mircea_popescu: those should shred better. [15:41]
Birdman: long as there's some extra on top im game [15:42]
mircea_popescu: ahahaha wait, what ?! [15:42]
diana_coman: is scribbling away [15:42]
Birdman: there's value in being ~able~ to shred right [15:42]
Birdman: so i can shred 25k times or w/e, less if i trade it all up in quality [15:42]
mircea_popescu: you don't get extra going up the quality pole, what is this. [15:42]
Birdman: i'd be willing to do that deal for some of them [15:45]
Birdman: does loot sort inside of containers now? [15:55]
Birdman: just built an ord and there's 6-7 spots filled with the resource, all same quality, and none in my inventory [15:55]
diana_coman: loot goes into containers now, yes [15:56]
Birdman: cool, and the last spot was higher quality [15:56]
mircea_popescu: :) [15:57]
alikim: diana_coman: np, I finally found nick autocomplete on my current client ;) [18:03]
mircea_popescu: o tomorrow's the big auction huh. [18:10]
Wise: Hello [18:24]
Wise: Why is my fsecure antivirus stopping the http://logs.minigame.bz webpage in my browser claiming it´s suspect? [18:25]
lobbesbot: Title: #Eulora Log (at logs.minigame.bz) [18:25]
mircea_popescu: uh that's weird. [18:43]
mircea_popescu: Wise does it say anything specific ? [18:43]
Wise: I get this (it´s in swedish and I cut away the browser info etc) http://postimg.org/image/x1by5r569/ [18:48]
lobbesbot: Title: View image: viruspic (at postimg.org) [18:48]
Wise: But it´s in my browser (chrome) [18:48]
mircea_popescu: Wise : your browser must be somehow broken. for one thing, f-secure itself doesn't agree with you : https://search.f-secure.com/search?query=http\%3A\%2F\%2Flogs.minigame.bz [18:49]
lobbesbot: Title: http://logs.minigame.bz - F-Secure Search (at search.f-secure.com) [18:49]
mircea_popescu: for the other thing, virustotal concurs : site's clean. https://www.virustotal.com/en/url/7b2abc76d5cb81accc78954437375b4257104e0c82cbd7de4813104a75f017e9/analysis/1463266124/ [18:49]
lobbesbot: Title: Scan report for http://logs.minigame.bz/ at 2016-05-14 22:48:44 UTC - VirusTotal (at www.virustotal.com) [18:49]
Wise: B"Blocked. This website har been repported as dangerous. We recommend that you do not visit this website" [18:49]
mircea_popescu: anyway, if you're concerned you can always load it through some sort of proxy service, or something like archive.is etc [18:49]
Wise: I´m sure it´s nothing, however, I did get it, might be something in code or something [18:50]
mircea_popescu: Wise there's literally no code whatsoever on the page. it uses no javascript etc. it looks like this : http://dpaste.com/0ZQ803F [18:51]
lobbesbot: Title: dpaste: 0ZQ803F (at dpaste.com) [18:51]
Wise: So what do I need to download :)? [18:52]
Wise: Oh, does it work on Win 10 ? [18:52]
mircea_popescu: well depending on platform ? anyway, see http://www.eulorum.org/Eulora [18:53]
lobbesbot: Title: Eulorum (at www.eulorum.org) [18:53]
mircea_popescu: if you haven't already [18:53]
Wise: Thank you! [18:54]
Wise: What´s the difference between FoxyBot and upstream package? [18:55]
mircea_popescu: foxybot is a bot that automates some in-game tasks. [18:55]
mircea_popescu: pretty nifty. player made. [18:55]
Wise: So that one is just + bot? [18:56]
mircea_popescu: ya [18:56]
Wise: K, tx [18:56]
zakorus123: is wise newer than me? [19:10]
Wise: Im very new indeed [19:10]
zakorus123: welcome [19:10]
Wise: Thank you [19:11]
danielpbarron: :D [19:11]
zakorus123: i joined about a couple weeks ago [19:11]
Wise: I need to have the folder in C: root? [19:11]
Wise: Hello there :) [19:11]
zakorus123: yes wise [19:11]
zakorus123: all related folders should be in c root [19:12]
zakorus123: have you made an account with mircae yet? [19:12]
zakorus123: or in the process of making a pgpkey [19:12]
zakorus123: ? [19:12]
zakorus123: also the final product of the game should be activated by a batch file [19:13]
zakorus123: if you ahve a .exe you did something wrong [19:13]
zakorus123: getting set up is a bit confusing at the moment [19:14]
zakorus123: :) [19:14]
zakorus123: but its worth it [19:14]
Wise: Ok, I started it, and now it tells me to see Mircea :) [19:16]
zakorus123: okidokey [19:16]
zakorus123: have you read the guide on the wiki [19:16]
zakorus123: and have you read the manual for gnupg [19:16]
Wise: No, will go do that.. ;) [19:16]
zakorus123: gl [19:17]
Wise: Should I run stable, modern or classic gnupg? [19:18]
zakorus123: stable [19:18]
Wise: k, tx [19:19]
Wise: hmm, is it "gpg4win" I should d/l? [19:21]
zakorus123: noits [19:22]
zakorus123: hold on [19:22]
zakorus123: lemme grab the site [19:22]

zakorus123: im actually playing ffxiv and doing a raid [19:22]
zakorus123: ok looks like the group is going to wipe [19:23]
zakorus123: so ill go grab the gpg key generator website [19:23]
zakorus123: ok it looks like it is gpg4win [19:24]
zakorus123: sorry got confused [19:24]
Wise: Sry, and thanx for taking your time [19:24]
zakorus123: np [19:24]
zakorus123: :) [19:24]
zakorus123: just remember to read the manual [19:25]
zakorus123: and get the stable version not the beta [19:25]
Wise: It says "you want to extract the interior using 7zip to the C:/ directory ( DO NOT EXTRACT ANYWHERE ELSE ) run the installer after the installation open it up.", but I got an installer that want to install into program files (gpg4wain) [19:25]
zakorus123: its not 4wain [19:26]
zakorus123: its 4win [19:26]
zakorus123: u might have mistyped it [19:26]
zakorus123: lol [19:26]
Wise: I did ;) [19:26]
zakorus123: https://www.gpg4win.org/download.html [19:26]
lobbesbot: Title: Gpg4win - Download Gpg4win (at www.gpg4win.org) [19:26]
Wise: yes, installing that, but that dosnt need to be installed in c: root then? [19:27]
zakorus123: might be a new version [19:27]
zakorus123: install that wherever [19:27]
zakorus123: might have made a mistake when i made the guide [19:27]
zakorus123: lemme check [19:27]
Wise: Oh, you did it :) [19:27]
zakorus123: i just recently made that guide [19:27]
zakorus123: ill edit it real quick [19:27]
zakorus123: ok party wiped and need to try again just gimmie 15 minutes [19:28]
zakorus123: and extracting to C: only for the actual gamefiles [19:28]
zakorus123: sorry bout that [19:34]
zakorus123: ok [19:34]
zakorus123: i fixed it [19:36]
zakorus123: sorry about that [19:36]
Wise: hmm, I´m lost at the key [19:41]

hanbot: it'll guide you through setting up a key with gpg4win and registering it here [20:07]
hanbot: zakorus123, please make that your first choice when advising new people, and let me know if/how it could be better. helping out's a lot easier with eulora-relevant guides imo, and keeps people from chasing wild geese ;) [20:10]
hanbot: (and by "that" i mean the eulorum wiki as a whole, not just that page) [20:10]
