Eulora 2 Logs for Apr 2026

April 1st, 2026 by Diana Coman
Day changed to 2026-04-01
[00:12] Rainer Tracksnarl: Raphael Nethersmell, that's worth about 327 shells more than what you're offering.
[09:57] Diana Coman: maybe Rainer Tracksnarl should learn of April fool's day :D
[12:10] Diana Coman: given that the public log for this chat room is quite well established by now, the server will enforce from this point on a more strict limit wrt lines provided in here at a client reconnect. In practical terms, this means that one can always get the most recent lines whenever one (re)connects, but it's best not to rely on the server to provide the full backlog for extended periods of time. What period of time is covered exactly by this server-provided backlog depends on the chat room's volume at any given time but currently it still covers more than one week.
[20:54] Raphael Nethersmell: sounds good about the chat Diana Coman.
Day changed to 2026-04-03
[23:17] Felicia Solecrimp: Sorry that I havent been on the chat lately I ve been trying to get more people aboard promoting the kronlike article and writing them emails as well
[23:17] Felicia Solecrimp: also working on creating more designs
Day changed to 2026-04-05
[02:12] Felicia Solecrimp: I was doing some selling to rainer and somehow the exchange dissapear I lost six os and some shell even thou I sell him lots of rocks
[02:12] Felicia Solecrimp: I feel a little sad
Day changed to 2026-04-06
[17:20] Felicia Solecrimp: now for me is not doing the exchanges well
[17:20] Felicia Solecrimp: it closes
Day changed to 2026-04-07
[22:00] Raphael Nethersmell: Felicia Solecrimp, the time heal the issue you reported ? did the coins or rocks return to you ?
[22:01] Raphael Nethersmell: if not, I'm sure Diana Coman will look into it when she returns.
Day changed to 2026-04-11
[11:30] Diana Coman: Felicia Solecrimp, can you describe in more detail what did you try to do and what happened exactly so I can try and look at it?
[11:55] Nestor Nethercross: Wolfgang Middlesit where are you?
[11:55] Wolfgang Middlesit: Nestor Nethercross, I am currently at -30.95 99.68 -8.01 in Preposterously Prosperous Place
[11:56] Wolfgang Middlesit: Nestor Nethercross, that's worth about 2.0k shells more than what you're offering.
[11:59] Diana Coman: Felicia Solecrimp, there is still quite a lot of CR on the ground around Rainer Tracksnarl, is that what you think you lost from your exchange? Nobody else around seems able to pick it up so I guess it's yours.
[12:11] Diana Coman: fwiw I just did 2 expired exchanges with Rainer Tracksnarl (one I just let expire by itself with no activity, the other locked empty hence finishing directly), as well as a fully successfull exchange with Wolfgang Middlesit, buying 2 moussakas, he gave change and all, everything transferred as expected, not quite sure what would a problem be. From the thicket of claims I see otherwise surrounding poor Rainer Tracksnarl, I suspect it's simply that your exchanges ran into the "too much data around" sort of troubles, not really losing anything nor just closing for no reason but simply clientside fail through sensory overload. Maybe pick your CR and/or anything else, move away from Rainer Tracksnarl for a while to let the claims finally expire, then try to exchange again in a less crowded environment and let me know how it goes?
[12:14] Diana Coman: ftr, when items you think you put in a give/receive of an exchange seemingly end up on the ground, it's just because of GUI windows overlap and/or visual tricks as it were - this is the trouble with click-based actions after all, you click somewhere and it seems it's over some specific bit or piece of the GUI but at times it's in fact a different bit since they are out of necessity overlapping at times and to some degree.
Day changed to 2026-04-13
[16:15] Felicia Solecrimp: not really Im still missing 6 os but you guys can look at it
[16:15] Felicia Solecrimp: i only got the ten that i did for crumbly rock last time
[16:16] Felicia Solecrimp: i had to change one of my items because soon im not going to have enough money for food
[16:31] Diana Coman: Felicia Solecrimp, what did you do exactly and what happened with that 6 os? Understand that I can *only* look into what might have happened if you give enough detail about what went on. Otherwise the default is that everything went as it should be and any potential loss is more likely due to some player-side misunderstanding of how things work.
[16:32] Diana Coman: based on what has been said this far, it's more likely the cr got dumped to the ground and in time got swept away as your char moved perhaps sufficiently far away from it
[17:42] Vivian Sporepress: http://ossasepia.com/2026/03/01/Eulora-2-Logs-for-Mar-2026/#5288 - not I, I think, since I haven't noticed changes in that regard in my lifetime
[17:42] Ulrich Logfetch: Quoting 2026-03-31 (Eulora 2) Diana Coman: this got me wondering now how many people even have still any concrete experience of what a reasonably well-stocked house used to mean (and I'm not even talking "rich" or such, only plain well on these relatively basic terms)
[17:44] Felicia Solecrimp: I open the trade I put a couple of crumbly rocks into 6 different rows and lines i accept the exchange i waited to the coins to get in my inventory and nothing happen
[17:44] Vivian Sporepress: though there were some signs of my grandparents having gone through leaner times, like my grandma would save to wash & reuse aluminum foil and bags after cooking/storage
[17:45] Felicia Solecrimp: so i came back and tried to reopen the trade and there where no coins there
[17:45] Felicia Solecrimp: so i have to go and built more claims instead
[17:46] Felicia Solecrimp: so here i am
[17:46] Vivian Sporepress: Felicia Solecrimp: you told me that Rainer Tracksnarl had put 6 os in the receive side, right? is that where they entered the story?
[17:46] Felicia Solecrimp: yeah i accepted them but i did not receive them
[17:47] Felicia Solecrimp: even thou i waited i know is not much just that i fear doing a trade and not getting the coins
[17:47] Felicia Solecrimp: even the rocks dissapear
[17:47] Vivian Sporepress: that made it sound like more than just misplaced rocks since how would he have offered them if the rocks hadn't been locked in the trade..
[17:47] Felicia Solecrimp: the rocks where there
[17:48] Felicia Solecrimp: is not like i did not gave nything in return
[17:48] Diana Coman: Felicia Solecrimp, first, please, calm down and *stop being afraid*, it's a *game*, yes?
[17:48] Felicia Solecrimp: no im alright hehe
[17:48] Felicia Solecrimp: just confused
[17:49] Diana Coman: well, it's so much "won't have food" and "fear doing a trade" and so on, which are not helpful figuring things out, let those parts aside to focus on what happened there
[17:50] Diana Coman: so, you say you moved the CR into the Give part of the exchange fine, you locked the exchange fine again, Rainer put 6 os in the Receive part of the exchange and locked his side fine, correct so far?
[17:50] Felicia Solecrimp: yes correct
[17:50] Diana Coman: then you accepted the exchange and Rainer accepted it too and then the exchange went away - with what message?
[17:51] Felicia Solecrimp: that the exchange either was accepted or canceled
[17:51] Felicia Solecrimp: so i thought everything was fine i have close others before like that
[17:52] Felicia Solecrimp: but this time i waited for the coins and they did not came back
[17:52] Diana Coman: did it say that one party seems to not have accepted it? And yes, clientside sometimes it doesn't get all info so it says what it can, but I'm trying to understand the exact situation you encountered so it matters.
[17:52] Diana Coman: so you checked your inventory and the CR was gone but the coins were not present neither at that time nor later, is this what you are saying?
[17:52] Felicia Solecrimp: no it said that i accepted and rainer accepted too
[17:53] Felicia Solecrimp: yes that what happen
[17:53] Diana Coman: ok, so the exchange is meant to have been completed, only for some unknown reason that specific time the received items (coins in this case but they could have been anything) just failed to make it into your inventory?
[17:53] Felicia Solecrimp: yes
[17:55] Diana Coman: Felicia Solecrimp, was there something other than CR you gave Rainer Tracksnarl in that exchange?
[17:57] Diana Coman: I think I have found the exchange and I have a clue as to what might have happened but I need to make sure I'm looking at the right one, first of all
[17:58] Felicia Solecrimp: toubers
[17:58] Felicia Solecrimp: it was a cr and toubers
[17:58] Diana Coman: right, it fits. Do you recall if your char was overweight/overbulk when you started the exchange?
[17:59] Felicia Solecrimp: yes but i only put the amount that i could sell the other bags i left them outside so i could sell some more
[17:59] Diana Coman: what do you mean by "left them outside"?
[18:00] Felicia Solecrimp: because i couldnt carry all of it so i did the exchange and then i came back and did other one
[18:00] Diana Coman: ok, but then it means you were not overweight when doing the exchange since you came with only what you could carry?
[18:00] Felicia Solecrimp: the first one was the one with six os that did not went through and the second one gave me four os which was okay
[18:00] Felicia Solecrimp: nope
[18:01] Felicia Solecrimp: when i do trades i tried not to be overweight or overbulk because otherwise i cant move somehow
[18:02] Diana Coman: well yes, that's the point, you can't move while overweight/bulk, obviously.
[18:02] Diana Coman: weirder though why would just one exchange fail. I can indeed see them both as done trades, no indication as to fail. My only suspicion was that perhaps it failed because your char was overweight but apparently that's not even possible, so it gets weirder and weirder.
[18:03] Diana Coman: basically if there is really nothing different between the two exchanges then how come the outcomes are supposedly different?
[18:04] Diana Coman: mmk, let me try to test this overweight exchange hypothesis at least
[18:10] Felicia Solecrimp: okay
[18:11] Diana Coman: uhm, really weirder and weirder - made Rainer Tracksnarl return the exact items, which predictably made my char overweight *and* overbulk, for good measure, made the exchange, all went through perfectly fine and the coins are there
[18:13] Felicia Solecrimp: what can i do when something like this happens ?
[18:13] Diana Coman: Felicia Solecrimp, this time I'll just reimburse you these coins for the trouble of the report and going through it in enough detail to follow, but so far there really is nothing to even suggest it really didn't make it.
[18:14] Diana Coman: document it better for starters, meaning at least a before+ after snapshot of your inventory really. And report it directly with the steps as we went through them above
[18:14] Felicia Solecrimp: okay im going to take pictures
[18:15] Felicia Solecrimp: thank you for the game support
[18:15] Diana Coman: possibly works, though you might end up with quite a bunch of pictures
[18:16] Diana Coman: also in general, seriously avoid overloading with a ton of claims exactly next to Rainer Tracksnarl, especially if/when you don't even leave it connected at all times since then it's sort of double whammy for the client to get it all and keep it up to date
[18:18] Diana Coman: Felicia Solecrimp, accept the coins
[18:18] Diana Coman: 6 os + 35 shells
[18:21] Diana Coman: Vivian Sporepress, seeing no change wrt home stocks might possibly mean simply that you are still keeping what used to be full stocks, it's hard to say based on change/no change like that. I guess I might need to do a write up for the concretes but otherwise I suppose the easily noticeable difference might be wrt others/"modern" types
[18:22] Diana Coman: Felicia Solecrimp, there we go, let me know if these coins made it
[18:25] Diana Coman: the leaner times and related habits are actually a different part. Fwiw apparently the great-grandmother who really kept a fully stocked cellar + larder + house in general is known to have complained bitterly about there being "only sunflower and/or rapeseed oil available in these horrible times, what on earth is that supposed to be, nowhere near as thick and proper-oil as olive oil!!"
[18:26] Felicia Solecrimp: they made it
[18:27] Diana Coman: good, enjoy!
[18:30] Vivian Sporepress: the modern idea of stocked house might be more like ~ delivery app on phone is up to date
[18:30] Diana Coman: Felicia Solecrimp, if you click again on the exchange button from that right-click menu on someone, it will open a *new* exchange. If you want only to re-open an existing exchange, click on the corresponding line in that notifications window. Obviously, once an exchange is closed (cancelled or gone through, regardless) you can't re-visit it, all you can do is indeed open a new one.
[18:33] Diana Coman: myeah, that's the thing, the stocking is entirely left up to the supermarket and usually just a favourite/most-convenient one, at that. If there's some disruption and the supermarket is out of whatever item one day, most end up running around without any of it (and most likely going for a take-away/similar) because that's about as far as their own actual self-reliance goes - at best the current day, if even that.
[18:34] Felicia Solecrimp: I think i somehow redo the exchange because i click yes many times and my computer or the server wasnt responding xD
[18:35] Diana Coman: lolz, it's ok, just accept this one so it finishes faster
[18:37] Diana Coman: Felicia Solecrimp, in general clicking repeatedly is not all that likely to help if/when there is some delay - you just add *more* traffic to an existing traffic jam and yes, it's quite likely you'll end up with a 2nd exchange if there were enough clicks in the pipeline. Again, it really helps to do stuff in less crowded places...
[18:44] Felicia Solecrimp: okay thanks for the advice
[18:45] Felicia Solecrimp: btw how was the trip ?
[21:24] Diana Coman: the trip was quite the break, as intended really, thanks. Apparently it was well-timed wrt return too as to not get caught in the latest large-scale disruption brought in by the new zeal in border checks at the schengen area.
[21:26] Felicia Solecrimp: Im glad you had a break :)
Day changed to 2026-04-14
[14:30] Diana Coman: interesting: on tinies from barehanded, apparently I get quite reliably exactly q5 cdg *but* on tinies from a tool, I got all sorts of qualities and generally much higher, e.g. q115 and even lowest was something like q70
Day changed to 2026-04-18
[10:10] Diana Coman: http://ossasepia.com/2026/04/06/Notices-and-Announcements-Logs-for-Apr-2026/#211 - quite a hit to PCs, huh. Curious how it even came about, does anyone have any clue on this?
[10:10] Ulrich Logfetch: Quoting 2026-04-18 (Notices and Announcements) Ulrich Logfetch: ** Euloran economic activity during one month to day 00 of month 05, year 7 (era 1): PCs' held value in items increased by 370`152 and their cash increased by 799; NPCs' held value in items increased by 9`452 and their cash decreased by 799; environment value decreased by 769`005. All amounts are shown in Euloran Shell (10`000 Shells to 1 Copper). **
[10:14] Diana Coman: I suppose it *could* even be all my zigging of claims gotten with a tool and all that but I can't tell since I didn't really do a full accounting on my char's holdings. By the looks of it, it's pushing to be done sooner rather than later.
Day changed to 2026-04-19
[23:20] Vivian Sporepress: pretty sure the windfall wasn't mine, I've just been filling maps & stacking lbn lately
[23:21] Vivian Sporepress: so far it's turned up good patches of bb, ed and pss
[23:23] Vivian Sporepress: perhaps tool use is even turning out profitable now, at least with enough skill?
Day changed to 2026-04-20
[07:37] Rainer Tracksnarl: Raphael Nethersmell, that's worth about 8.7k shells more than what you're offering.
[14:16] Diana Coman: Vivian Sporepress, I can't quite tell without a proper accounting clientside as it were, whether manual or automated
[14:17] Diana Coman: good patches of bb and ed especially sound really good though
[14:18] Diana Coman: interestingly enough, lately my char found lbn within what seems otherwise basics patch so dunno whether that means it's a spot I should dig more into or just a blind small spot or what exactly (it's not in PPP, just a first map in another sector)
[17:42] Vivian Sporepress: I've seen that too on occasion, even among the cr in ppp from my old data. the newer client knowledge based map also shows a whole column of them at 40 unit spacing, all on their own near the left edge in ppp; especially odd since I don't recall it being me finding them, yet how would I have gotten close enough to see them all but not any actual claims nearby...
[17:44] Vivian Sporepress: from the older map I found mostly sb in the region
[19:51] Diana Coman: there could be in principle someone's bot going at 40 and not picking up the lbn or otherwise in range while going that way. Possibly just digging at the said coordinates sets the matter to rest. Looking now at my map, it's exactly that side that I didn't really explore to the edge so possibly there is lbn there past the sb, unless it's skill-related
[19:53] Diana Coman: meanwhile the bot going barehanded got me a BN ord and I wonder if I can even lift the things it's asking, seeing how it's some 30 boulders, 170 flotsam and 50+ canines, lolz
[19:53] Diana Coman: though I have to admit that I'm not particularly interested in BN currently anyhow so I'll probably let it expire
