danielpbarron: i tried to set text in the alt character description [02:17]
danielpbarron: OOC and CC [02:17]
diana_coman: hm; server's up [03:34]
diana_coman: danielpbarron, did you use that "Modify Description" thing? [03:35]
diana_coman: I couldn't replicate [03:35]
diana_coman: or hm, was your character low on stamina? [03:36]
danielpbarron: idk [03:43]
danielpbarron: do you have doubtful tombs for sale? [03:46]
diana_coman: danielpbarron, tomes available: 1 q44; 4 q159; 1 q165; 1 q175; 2 q245 [03:53]
danielpbarron: i'll take 'em all [03:53]
diana_coman: !~calc 4.43*88462*(0.44+4*1.59+1.65+1.75*2*2.45) [03:54]
jhvh1: diana_coman: 4.43*88462*(0.44+4*1.59+1.65+1.75*2*2.45) = 6671870.3865 [03:54]
diana_coman: danielpbarron, trade [03:54]
diana_coman: enjoy! [03:56]
danielpbarron: ty [03:56]
diana_coman: danielpbarron, your shop/website seems down [09:23]
mircea_popescu: i think he was migrating [09:29]
diana_coman: danielpbarron, I just realised: did I give you the wrong change there? I think there is 300k I owe you, isn't it? [11:09]
danielpbarron: that may be [12:35]
danielpbarron: yep [12:39]
danielpbarron: lol "You are either too fat or too busy to start use at this time." [12:40]
diana_coman: danielpbarron, trade [12:43]
diana_coman: lol, so what was it danielpbarron ? too fat? or too busy? [12:47]
danielpbarron: k [12:49]
lobbes: mircea_popescu: I'm starting to plot out the relation schema for the tables that will support the bot's auction feature. Regarding the 'bid amount' and 'opening bid' fields, I'm thinking it may make sense for these to be denominated in ~millions~ of coppers (I'll make sure bot makes this known). Let me know if you think otherwise [13:56]
lobbes: looking through the logs, it seems that most opening bids start somewhere in that range: http://logs.minigame.bz/search?q=AUCTION [13:56]
lobbes: (btw, I'm going off of the original specs you mentioned here: http://logs.minigame.bz/2016-02-20.log.html#t16:06:06) [13:57]
lobbesbot: Logged on 2016-02-20 16:06:06: <mircea_popescu> lobbes yes. i would like for there to be a command going !auction <string> <int(price)> <int(hours)> whereby lobbesbot announces that auction, repeats it once an hour (in a batch with all the others it has) and whenever someone asks, maintains a top bidder, by accepting !bid <int(coppers)> commands, and notifies winner and auctioneer of end result. [13:57]
mircea_popescu: lobbes even official auctions see single copper bids [13:57]
lobbes: really? well okay then [13:58]
mircea_popescu: prolly healthy to leave it as satoshi int, what's wrong with that [13:58]
lobbes: as long as people are okay with literally typing in the !Qbid 12,000,000 then I am fine with that [13:58]
mircea_popescu: could implement shortcuts i guess [13:59]
mircea_popescu: 12m = 12000000 [13:59]
lobbes: true [13:59]
mircea_popescu: game currently does the same [13:59]
lobbes: k, I will design with this in mind. Thanks! [14:00]
mircea_popescu: nono, ty. [14:00]
danielpbarron: mixed up a toil of bouqinism bundle that's the same quality as the blueprint [14:30]
mircea_popescu: similar thang happened to me recently [14:33]
danielpbarron: i was trying to get it close to that but lucky me got it right on the spot [14:34]
danielpbarron: interesting to see if it loots or how that works [14:34]
danielpbarron: there's a lot more control over bundle quality when the value gets up this high [14:34]
danielpbarron: cool, result is quality 200 and still got a little loot [14:37]
danielpbarron: also, i noticed one of the recent changes: crafter mark is applied to all loot now [14:38]
danielpbarron: i appreciate this very much [14:38]
danielpbarron: and crafts take different amounts of time [14:40]
danielpbarron: that used to take 200 to 300 seconds, now it takes 700+ [14:40]
danielpbarron: ty [14:43]
diana_coman: thanks [14:43]
mircea_popescu: danielpbarron was always intended to work this way [14:44]
danielpbarron: which thing? [14:44]
mircea_popescu: both the delay and the mark. [14:44]
danielpbarron: ah [14:44]
mircea_popescu: problem was legacy codebase got in the way. as we're throwing more and more of the planeshit away, eulora comes ever closer to what it was supposed to be. [14:44]
Birdman: AUCTION: 454 Maculature I q144; 1 Maculature I q686 2mn heard mircea_popescu AUCTION: 15004 CLD (dusts) q442; 1.4mn heard mircea_popescu ETA 9pm ART [15:26]
Birdman: aaand can ibuy some sticks? [15:27]
danielpbarron: the 1.4 bid is mine [15:27]
Birdman: duh, meant to change it [15:27]
Birdman: AUCTION: 454 Maculature I q144; 1 Maculature I q686 2mn heard mircea_popescu AUCTION: 15004 CLD (dusts) q442; 1.4mn heard danielpbarron ETA 9pm ART [15:28]
danielpbarron: oh now the mites are coming out quality 201 [15:28]
danielpbarron: i guess this means i'm slightly above average lapadaryist [15:28]
mircea_popescu: wd [15:30]
mircea_popescu: Birdman you have this pretty inane style of doing 8 questions and rushing everything. yes you can buy sticks. ask me five minutes before your auction is done too, and i'll tell you the same, and you won't have the money to pay and etc. [15:31]
mircea_popescu: wtf is this. [15:31]
danielpbarron: i have a working theory of how skill, blueprint quality, and bundle quality go into final product quality: bundle and product at same quality is same value, skill determines how much of the blueprint/tool/container value is added to final product vs getting shredded into numina which has a much less direct route to a final product. [15:34]
mircea_popescu: that's interesting. [15:35]
mircea_popescu: actually this is probably a pretty good adition to the wiki, "Community Sourced Theories on Game Mechanics". make a chapter for everything. [15:35]
danielpbarron: essentially, noob crafters end up with all these (to them)unusable things that they then need to sell, probably for less than the thing they were actually trying to make [15:36]
danielpbarron: an experienced crafter can better aim to end up with less of these complicated bits [15:36]
danielpbarron: keeping the value in the product [15:37]
danielpbarron: which i think means that there should be profit in trying to minimize numina production, and a highly balanced marketplace would put little bit o' nothing production at highest priority (bouqinist would try to minimize loot and keep value in product) [15:40]
danielpbarron: at the moment the focus is on the loot of macalature, which has a lot to do with why prices are so much higher than base value [15:41]
mircea_popescu: hm [15:42]
mircea_popescu: major problem there is the absnece of wos though [15:43]
danielpbarron: i don't know that there is a problem or that it is in any one place. the balanced market isn't good or bad, but profit and loss are more extereme in this environment [15:45]
mircea_popescu: hm [15:48]
Birdman: its not that i dont have money for them, i was just getting more, and all i can do right now is barehand tiny claims with crappy bits, ofc im in a rush to do anything else [16:04]
mircea_popescu: aite, so im in town. [16:24]
mircea_popescu: Birdman ^ [16:24]
Birdman: omw now [16:24]

mircea_popescu: ty [16:37]
Birdman: thanks [16:37]
mircea_popescu: &gl [16:38]
