#eulora Logs for 04 Aug 2016

August 4th, 2016 by Diana Coman
diana_coman: hi mod6 ; welcome back [04:23]
diana_coman: new bot should go fine without overweight trouble now as long as it has 1 craft-table to use to store stuff [04:24]
danielpbarron: http://minigame.bz/eulora/source/ << is this gpg signed thing available as a raw text file ?? It is very difficult to verify as is [10:10]
mircea_popescu: danielpbarron why ? copy/paste and put in gpg neh ? [10:32]
danielpbarron: put in how? [10:33]
mircea_popescu: gpg hit return hit ctrl-v [10:33]
mircea_popescu: i can also make a txt version but i didn't because then wtf is with the links. [10:34]
danielpbarron: eh i got it to work by pasting it into echo "" gpg --verify [10:35]
danielpbarron: but that doesn't always work [10:35]
mircea_popescu: sorry bout teh inconvenience. i dun really see how to improve this tho ;/ [10:36]
danielpbarron: host the raw thing in that directory as raw.asc or something [10:36]
mircea_popescu: ok, but then you have two files, you gotta diff them and besides what happens to links [10:37]
mircea_popescu: by rights i should sign the html ; but shitty browsers don't support [10:37]
danielpbarron: why would i have to diff? [10:41]
danielpbarron: i would just use the raw one strictly [10:41]
danielpbarron: it has the sha512sums [10:41]
mircea_popescu: ah tru. [10:42]
mircea_popescu: ok doing this now. [10:42]
danielpbarron: is compiling the new client now [10:42]
mircea_popescu: cool [10:50]
diana_coman: for the new foxybot version in a nutshell (until I get to put up a proper post on it): if you want to use the new feature of separating outputs from tiny/small claims (to avoid mixing qualities AND to avoid becoming overweight), simply make sure you have the *first* table in your inventory *empty* [10:55]
mircea_popescu: wwwwait [10:57]
mircea_popescu: IT ACTUALLY AVOIDS OVERWERIGHT ?!?!?! [10:57]
mircea_popescu: holy shit! [10:57]
diana_coman: aha; it uses the table as a giant container basically: puts it down, explores/builds/gets stuff, moves it to table, moves and then just drags the table and it's set :D [10:58]
mircea_popescu: neato. [11:00]
mircea_popescu: i'm not even going to nuke this fttb. [11:00]
mircea_popescu: and the fact that i can go back to 7thread mining is also quite interesting [11:00]
mircea_popescu: before i was just using 1cft and made my lbn match its q through mixing [11:01]
diana_coman: aha, that's pretty much why I really had to implement this: I got fed up with matching threads and lbn and more to the point HAVING TO match them, lol [11:01]
mircea_popescu: myeah. cool. [11:01]
mircea_popescu: so what this means, practically, is that ima go to the mining spot with a stack of lbn and a stack of cft blueprints [11:07]
mircea_popescu: AND EXCAVATE IT [11:07]
diana_coman: take care: we're on an island there! lol [11:07]
mircea_popescu: ima make it a volcano [11:07]
mircea_popescu: danielpbarron : curl http://minigame.bz/eulora/source/index.asc gpg [11:56]
mircea_popescu: gpg: Good signature from "Mircea Popescu [11:56]
danielpbarron: ty [12:07]
mircea_popescu: and today in mining news : the new way to get to mining spot is to a) load up with a ton of lbn and cft bps ; b) point the guy in the direction of mining spot and c) explore all the way there! [15:19]
mircea_popescu: epic shit [15:19]
diana_coman: craft-table travel - eulora style! [15:40]
diana_coman: that spaceship to the moon truly will be a stack of craft-tables :)) [15:40]
mircea_popescu: :D! [15:40]
diana_coman: Foxy's apparently stuck for the rest of the week making tomes [15:41]
mircea_popescu: anyway, with these improvements i expect to dig up my entire stack of lbn. [15:41]
diana_coman: are you using a tool or bh? [15:41]
mircea_popescu: prolly be digging for the next month [15:41]
mircea_popescu: bh, goes about 1-2k lbn/day from what i see [15:41]
mircea_popescu: but on the upside, builds up a nice stock of cft. [15:41]
diana_coman: aha, at least you won't run out of lbn very quickly then [15:42]
mircea_popescu: i still got like 60k or so i think. so should be like a month. [15:42]
diana_coman: cool [15:42]
mircea_popescu: danielpbarron ever got it to work ? [15:42]
danielpbarron: what? the bot? sorta [15:49]
danielpbarron: idk if it's lag or what but sometimes a claim isn't built and the key retained. This was formerly just a problem in that it would cause my inventory to fill faster, but is now a greater concern due to the fact that the key takes the 1st inventory slot in place of the craft table [15:50]
hanbot: <danielpbarron> it has the sha512sums << ftr i get a different sha512sum on the tarball ;/ [15:51]
danielpbarron: huh i thought mine checked out [15:51]
mircea_popescu: if it doesn't built it locks the claim tho [15:51]
mircea_popescu: hanbot "a different" is meaningless in this context. [15:51]
hanbot: sha512sum eulora-v0.1.2b.tar.gz [15:52]
hanbot: 7d7b093db1fcf1553786a4970e2c7e9244eb0a7d6e81c1cad85f783f78bfda3eddbb71edde1c5aa5e64026b043f5d9b261581907d748c344a2044076b2ae9c5d eulora-v0.1.2b.tar.gz [15:52]
mircea_popescu: o.O [15:52]
mircea_popescu: did the dld get interrupted maybe ? [15:52]
danielpbarron: mircea_popescu, whether it locks or not isn't the issue, although now that you mention it.. what if i find an ordinary?? but no the problem is that apparently the craft table has to be in the 1st slot? or else the bot freaks out [15:52]
hanbot: i guess that's possible, i'll redo. [15:52]
mircea_popescu: 189950518 bytes ? [15:53]
mircea_popescu: danielpbarron im using it with table not in 1st slot. and also ordinary it locks [15:53]
mircea_popescu: it locks even tiny if you have no lbn [15:53]
danielpbarron: yeah i'm gonna have to re-apply my modifications [15:54]
mircea_popescu: make a blogpost of it, i'd read. [15:54]
hanbot: redone, same sha512sum (as first mismatch, above), ftr. [15:55]
danielpbarron: diana_coman> for the new foxybot version in a nutshell (until I get to put up a proper post on it): if you want to use the new feature of separating outputs from tiny/small claims (to avoid mixing qualities AND to avoid becoming overweight), simply make sure you have the *first* table in your inventory *empty* << ahh i misread that. Doesn't have to be 1st slot, just first table has to be empty [15:55]
danielpbarron: hanbot, i doublechecked mine and it is correct on my end [15:55]
hanbot: cool ty [15:55]
mircea_popescu: hanbot im redlding and will report. [15:55]
mircea_popescu: danielpbarron yeah tho tbh im using it with a table with stuff in it, under observation [15:56]
mircea_popescu: seems to be working ok [15:56]
mircea_popescu: if anyone cares, there's ~250 paces from town to grass spot [16:07]
hanbot: was getting via curl and thus grabbed redirect page ;p [16:07]
hanbot: will update eulorum accordingly once i'm back in [16:07]
mircea_popescu: a cool. [16:07]
mircea_popescu: i suppose i should just change those links. [16:07]
mircea_popescu: gimme a minute [16:08]
mircea_popescu: hanbot can try nao [16:09]
hanbot: ty! [16:10]
hanbot: yeah, is fine. [16:24]
hanbot: breezy recompile, new stuff looks great. wd diana_coman & mircea_popescu [16:59]
mircea_popescu: win. [17:00]
diana_coman: cheers hanbot [17:02]
diana_coman: danielpbarron, you can always just replace any files/whole folder of the foxybot with your version [17:05]
diana_coman: goes to write the post on the new foxybot [17:06]
mircea_popescu: will read :) [17:06]
lobbesbot: News from dianacoman: Craft-Table Tourism with Foxybot 1.4 <http://www.dianacoman.com/2016/08/04/craft-table-tourism-with-foxybot-1-4/> [18:31]
diana_coman: more details on Foxybot 1.4 ^ [18:32]
mircea_popescu: "If you haven\u0092t yet seen Foxy dragging around a craft-table as part of her new drop/explore/build/take/move/drop ritual, you haven't lived" :D [18:41]
mircea_popescu: btw diana_coman is grid broken ? or how does it wokr ? [18:42]
diana_coman: hm, haven't used/tried that in ages; should work by moving left-right, but it's meant to explore a large area, so basically it will keep going (NOT going back) [18:43]
mircea_popescu: ah. i want to get an extra parameter, angle in radians [18:43]
mircea_popescu: turn that much after each step :D [18:44]
diana_coman: lol, so copy from the radial thing [18:44]
mircea_popescu: from point yeah [18:44]
mircea_popescu: i might do this sometime. [18:44]
diana_coman: that one turns at an angle, there is a function in worldHandler that does exactly that [18:44]
mircea_popescu: yup [18:44]
diana_coman: there's plenty of scope there for movement, that's the whole point of the MovementStrategy class really [18:44]
danielpbarron: mircea_popescu> btw diana_coman is grid broken ? or how does it wokr ? << never worked. I had to modify it to work in my version, which I'll have to put back in [18:53]
diana_coman: danielpbarron, ? I remember you modified it because it did not work the way *you wanted it* but not because it did not work [18:55]
mircea_popescu: i'll prolly have to dust off my analytics to come up with a proper unit-space covering function [18:55]
mircea_popescu: like hilbert's space filler, iirc that worked with 90 degrees [18:57]
mircea_popescu: or i guess peano [18:57]
mircea_popescu: god i totally love this new bot. [19:36]
danielpbarron: it didn't work the way anyone would intuitively expect it to work [20:22]
