#eulora Logs for 07 May 2016

May 7th, 2016 by Diana Coman
mod6: and about 15 years ago they did a study that said that the fucking goddamn things don't help one bit, and actually probably cause more problems than just letting unmetered access to the freeway [00:00]
mod6: so they shut them off for like 6 months [00:00]
mod6: then some godddamn person decided that "oh fuck, we spent millions on these things! better turn 'em back on..." [00:01]
mod6: and such has been the way ever since. [00:01]
mircea_popescu: omfg you just inspired me. you know what they should do ? PAY LIGHTS. you get a transponder, right ? like they use to pay highway and shit ? you set it for whatever you want, 500 satoshi. every time youget to a light, it charges you that much. light always shows green for the side where it gets more payola. [00:01]
mircea_popescu: take bitcoin tx fees and apply them to traffic. [00:01]
mod6: don't get me wrong. i run them every chance i get, but 9/10 some derp is already stopped at them before i get there, no choice. :/ [00:01]
mircea_popescu: poor fuckers get to sit and wait forever. [00:01]
hanbot: mod6 no plate-snapping cameras? [00:02]
mircea_popescu: nah, he lives in the sticks. they don't even have kid-safe caps there yet :D [00:02]
mod6: they did have that hanbot. but then they ruled it "unconstitutional" when that actually still meant something because at the time it was decided that you can't get a ticket without a cop actually seeing you commit a crime. [00:03]
mod6: or misdermeaner [00:03]
mod6: mircea_popescu: this is actually a great idea. [00:03]
mircea_popescu: werd [00:03]
mod6: i'd pay every time. [00:03]
mod6: everytime im sitting a godddamn stop light i sit there and think "i own that goddamn pile of shit." [00:03]
mircea_popescu: mod6 you know ? the job can just pay. "look fuckers, there's 19 lights from my place to yours. you want me to pay 100 each, i get here when i get here. you want me to get here sooner, say how much i should pay. you're paying for it either way, figure it out." [00:03]
hanbot: best traffic system i ever heard of. [00:04]
mircea_popescu: work day starts when you sit down in your car. they want to pay you for an hour in traffic and 100 satoshi per light, fine. [00:04]
mircea_popescu: they want to pay for 15 minutes in traffic and 1700 satoshi per light, idem fine. pick a price and be happy [00:04]
mod6: for sure. if there was actual capitalism this would already be a thing of sorts. but instead, oh no, we can't have that. [00:04]
mircea_popescu: shitcialism. where a bunch of socialists pretend shit's capitalism. [00:05]
mod6: imagine the sweeping changes from the hand of the free market [00:05]
mircea_popescu: myeah. [00:05]
mod6: hell, everyone would be making money. [00:05]
mod6: oh no, can't have that. [00:05]
mircea_popescu: mostly derps whining. by now it's gotten to whenever i hear someone whining i'm happy. [00:06]
mircea_popescu: means shit's working. and the more they whine and the louder it gets the better. [00:06]
mod6: the whining to me is like sand in the gears. [00:06]
mod6: doesn't really do shit, but eventually the gears get tired. [00:06]
mircea_popescu: there is also that. [00:06]
mod6: our republic, we collect taxes. a person makes his tribute. its not enforceable! [00:08]
mod6: used to be like that here too like 125 years ago [00:08]
mircea_popescu: quite. back when that country was going up, rather than down [00:08]
mod6: but now? 60\% once your done paying everything. and then these bums wonder why i won't give them a nickel. [00:08]
mircea_popescu: whoa nelly check me out, i looted 25k library dusts! [00:09]
mircea_popescu: sub-pop [00:09]
mod6: hey! [00:10]
mircea_popescu: sveet. [00:10]
mod6: so it really does make me wonder. like, how in the world can the postal service lose 5bn/yr and stay open? oh yeah, whoops we print 100bn/mo. so w/e, drop in the bucket. god forbid we layoff 1mn non-essential workers. [00:11]
mod6: in other news zimbabwe just said they're going to start printing us dollars. [00:11]
mod6: best laugh I've had in at least a month. [00:11]
mircea_popescu: hey, korea's been doing it for years [00:12]
mod6: solid comedy sir. [00:12]
mod6: i just have to laugh. hahaha [00:12]
mircea_popescu: they have a point though. what's so special about THOSE bureaucrats that they can just print ? zimbabwe ones too nigger or what ? [00:12]
mod6: right!? [00:13]
mircea_popescu: bureaucrat is bureaucrat, if they gonna print, one is as good as any. [00:13]
mod6: i don't blame them one bit [00:13]
mircea_popescu: how's dollar printed by obama better or even different from dollar printed by his brother bohama, left behind in kenya ? [00:13]
mod6: its just idiotic, what did they think was going to happen? [00:13]
hanbot: no one could have foreseen takes care of that whole "think" problem [00:14]
mod6: and the closer you are to the money supply, the faster you can grab a pallet and give it at a slight discount to the next bag-holder for a mcmansion in fuckin monico or whwerver. [00:14]
mircea_popescu: same thing with us students protesting. they have a point - hey bitches, you print money to give to banks cuz they lost it ? fuck, we wasted this many billions on "school loans". print, bitchez! [00:14]
mircea_popescu: what, the bankers are better or something ? fuck that shit. [00:14]
mod6: laugh of the week: "hey mod6, are you workin with those GS guys on that blockchain stuff?" [00:15]
mod6: "WUT?" [00:15]
mircea_popescu: if you're gonna be socialist, go with it all the way, what. all governments are just as good, all waste is just as wasteful, what do i care a bunch of fuctards wasted a billion while they wore hats with "banker" written on them as opposed to "academic" ? same waste. print. [00:15]
mod6: oh ya. [00:16]
mod6: [Press Button to Print] [00:16]
mod6: [Flick your pen here] [00:17]
mircea_popescu: all this special pleading you know, "we believe in socialism but only up to here". o ya ? fuck you. [00:17]
mircea_popescu: that's one dandy philosophy, that only goes so far. for the same money you could listen to some guy's peristaltic noise. [00:17]
mircea_popescu: "his jejune gurgled! print!" [00:18]
mod6: haha [00:18]
mod6: there is no way that this thing does not go to infinity [00:18]
mod6: im gonna buy a cattle ranch in b-a [00:19]
mod6: rope steers for milk and beef [00:19]
mircea_popescu: they don't do much milk here for some reason. [00:20]
mircea_popescu: that reason could be they're just fucking stupid, of course. [00:20]
mod6: seems contradictorary off the cuff right? with tres-leches et al? [00:20]
mircea_popescu: yeah, no idea. but the beef is something else. [00:20]
mod6: Yes, Sir. [00:21]
mircea_popescu: and honestly, i think down in cordoba you could probably run a ranch old style, cowboys and all, and make decent money. [00:21]
mircea_popescu: get some indian guys from az or something that know how to work cattle, and that's that. [00:21]
mod6: some day, i feel like that could really be something. when the war is over. [00:21]
mircea_popescu: not really a life for old people, tho. [00:22]
mod6: alf will pay kings quest, and I'll rope some steers. [00:22]
mircea_popescu: shit's hard work. [00:22]
mod6: physilogically, i think I was built to push a plow [00:22]
mircea_popescu: lol. [00:22]
mircea_popescu: i thought you were built to plow two gals at once, but then again that's me. [00:22]
mod6: my other favorite past time [00:23]
mod6: *pass time [00:23]
mircea_popescu: your ranch will consist of you and a mangy kid that goes to each bull and whispers in its ear : "either you rope yourself or mod6 comes and fucks you." [00:23]
mod6: so speaking of roping cattle... one of the coolest things about tucson is that they have a city-holiday for Rodeo. [00:23]
mod6: hahahaha [00:24]
mircea_popescu: they still do that there huh. [00:24]
mod6: now that's motivation [00:24]
mod6: 60 year old man who will rape you with impunity because he can't see and mixes viagra with coffee [00:24]
mircea_popescu: i hear that shit can make you blind... [00:25]
mod6: yah, Rodeo is a whole long-weekend thing [00:25]
mod6: its awesome, everyone is off, even school. [00:25]
mod6: i went a number of times. one hawt girl got me vip passes since her dad was a judge since like forever. [00:25]
mod6: i've never seen someone come out of a gate, rope, hog tie a calf like that before then. [00:26]
mod6: it was like, unreal. [00:26]
mod6: these guys know what the fuck they're doing. [00:26]
mircea_popescu: you back to tucson nao ? i thought you were in what, kansas was it ? [00:26]
mod6: na, minneapolis [00:26]
mircea_popescu: a [00:26]
mod6: i wish i was back in az. such a nice place to be. [00:26]
mod6: any where in the us is a hell-hole though [00:27]
mod6: tucson is pretty laid back for sure. and where i used to live, i could go about a mile away from the homestead and shoot whatever i wanted [00:28]
mod6: here, they'd put me in the electic chair for 121 years [00:28]
mod6: they don't even have the death penalty. but they'd bring it back, just for me. [00:28]
mircea_popescu: lol slow cooker [00:28]
mod6: haha. "you shot GUNS with in 24 miles of a structure?" "get a the sponge and the cable." [00:29]
mod6: i guess mn isn't as bad as other leftist hellholes such as CA or NY or whatever, but its up there. [00:30]
mod6: and they have these metered lights on the freeway ramps... [00:30]
mircea_popescu: new york's just crowded to all fuck [00:30]
mod6: oh yeah, already did that rant once today.. ;) [00:30]
mircea_popescu: 100 years ago there was some reason for it, but today... just a bunch of cunts hoping to one day be someone by meeting someone who's someone [00:31]
mircea_popescu: what they don't know though is that nobody who's someone lives in ny anymore ; that's what connecticut is for [00:31]
mircea_popescu: and arizona, for that matter. [00:31]
mod6: shit yeah, i couldn't really live like that. at least, not now. maybe when I was 19 before the wide open spaces out west put the zap on my head. [00:31]
mircea_popescu: lol people are gonna come in tomorrow and be OMFG WHAT HAPPENED TO THE LOG [00:32]
mod6: hahah, my bad. [00:32]
mircea_popescu: AUCTION : 500 SA, d 15048, 10.5mn heard hanbot ; 5 stacks lbn, q 285, 7.5mn heard hanbot . ETA 17:00 ART [00:32]
mod6: i had two single malts, which happens just about never. [00:32]
mod6: so im in somewhat rare form. [00:32]
mircea_popescu: then next year you'll be mining minding your own business and suddenly BAM! PK! [00:32]
mircea_popescu: and dude yelling "remember may 7 2016 ? DIE BITCH!" [00:33]
mod6: haha [00:33]
mod6: so i was in the process of colorizing this ticket chart. but i think im just gonna colorize the saga tickets. [00:34]
mod6: leave the rest of em as is; starting to look like something out of chuck-e-cheese with all these different cololrs. [00:35]
mircea_popescu: lol. mod6 for lsd! [00:35]
mod6: hahah. [00:35]
mod6: im getting there, im not trying to make it too fancy for the time being. just functional enough for the ole send off. [00:36]
mircea_popescu: ye [00:36]
mod6: i've gotta get my ass in gear. too much other stuff to do this month. [00:36]
mod6: which kinda brings us full circle. [00:36]
mod6: wish i had more time to help stan with cs or whatever other stuff. [00:37]
mod6: like random numbers. [00:37]
mod6: i don't even think im really qualified for that, but heck, maybe i'd learn something. [00:37]
mircea_popescu: eh don't worry, can't have everyone doing the same thing [00:38]
mod6: i bought all these fancy dice [00:38]
mod6: and now i cant even bring myself to roll them. [00:38]
mircea_popescu: lol whjy not. [00:38]
mod6: it seems insane to me, trust what we know to be a diddled rng? or roll some dice in the dark and try to debias them without screwing it up? [00:39]
mod6: i think a gc would be better. [00:39]
mod6: but that's a whole new adventure. [00:39]
mircea_popescu: eh, throwing dice is not terrible source of entropy. just slow is all. [00:39]
mod6: i feel like if I can't get random numbers from dice, then we have a real problem. [00:40]
mod6: "paranoia strikes deep" [00:40]
mircea_popescu: lol [00:40]
mod6: ok, i blew up this log enough. i'll go back to hacking on this thing to round out the night. [00:42]
mircea_popescu: enjoy [00:42]
mod6: :] [00:42]
mircea_popescu: and in other crazy news : i found a stash of a few dozen maculatures from long long ago ; QUALITY 5.5k [00:52]
zakorus123: wow [00:57]
zakorus123: is jurov here? [01:49]
zakorus123: id like to make a deposit [01:49]
zakorus123: <---- finally got my payment from grindabuck [01:50]
zakorus123: :) [01:50]
mircea_popescu: wd. [02:06]
mircea_popescu: what's this grindabuck [02:06]
zakorus123: its a micro-earnings site [02:23]
zakorus123: cept it pays in bitcoin [02:23]
zakorus123: brb gonna go eat [02:32]
zakorus123: im back [02:49]
alikim: nice one Foxy [03:24]
diana_coman: eh, remarkable build, kind of guaranteed pop [03:30]
diana_coman: but yeah, I got shrooms nao [03:30]
zakorus123: cool [03:30]
zakorus123: :P [03:30]
zakorus123: was it atleast profit? [03:31]
alikim: is Farming skill trained thru gathering? [03:43]
diana_coman: in my experience no alikim , it seems to be trained through building claims of farming resources [03:44]
alikim: ok, thanks, I need to eat that one too [03:46]
alikim: if anyone has I'll buy [03:47]
diana_coman: there is also mining and lumberjack [03:49]
diana_coman: I think daniel sells all of them for a hefty price [03:49]
diana_coman: I might be able to sell the mining one for something lower, will see and get back [03:49]
alikim: well, after severe changes to exploration the practical value of these books became very low since it's very unlikely to get any high level in their skill [04:15]
alikim: I spent 3 days levelling building and I got to lvl 9, it might take months to get to lvl 100 beyond that I don't even know [04:16]
alikim: I think the game just cut off the first generation of uber players from the rest of the base, levels 400-500 will never be acheived by anyone [04:18]
alikim: including Gathering skill [04:19]
alikim: it takes about 1000 exploration attempts to get a gathring level and I'm lvl 42 now, and it's slowing down exponentially, so lvl 500 = never_gonna_happen [04:22]
diana_coman: alikim, that is absolutely false [04:23]
diana_coman: for one thing: I got to 500+ WITH TOOLS not barehanded ffs [04:23]
diana_coman: and for the other thing: you can *also* increase your skill with books if that's what you really want [04:23]
alikim: yeah I'm talking barehanded ofc [04:23]
diana_coman: the book that gave you the skill gives you xp too up to level 100 and so on [04:23]
diana_coman: well, that's your choice, but it has nothing to do with the game as such [04:24]
alikim: yeah I don't count depositing in [04:24]
alikim: you can buy it ofc [04:24]
diana_coman: that's fine, but even that doesn't follow with what you say: as mentioned earlier, zak didn't deposit anything and he still has some 56 level gathering already [04:25]
diana_coman: and yeah, he used some tools too [04:25]
alikim: I seriously doubt he can extract 25k worth of resources with one axe [04:25]
diana_coman: probably not, but he did jobs for me and he got the xp for free [04:26]
diana_coman: plus some money for that matter [04:26]
diana_coman: depending on the job [04:26]
alikim: well, you paid for his levelling that's another option [04:26]
zakorus123: i forgot i neeeded to buy something today so i guess i cant buy any ecu till my next payment [04:26]
zakorus123: :/ [04:26]
diana_coman: I offered him jobs that gave him experience and coppers, that's all [04:27]
alikim: I'm talking about raw game mechanics, not various boosters like tools etc. [04:27]
alikim: well, good for him [04:27]
diana_coman: uhm, raw game mechanics is: what you get out depends on what you put in [04:27]
diana_coman: it was for a while boosted in fact re bh, by the looks of it it's not anymore [04:28]
diana_coman: essentially it got harder to pull yourself up by your own breeches thing, yes [04:28]
alikim: anyway, did you have a chance to look up that book? [04:29]
diana_coman: it's the Good Hammer thing; I see daniel sells it for 10mn o.o; I guess I can let go of a few for 8mn each [04:30]
alikim: ok, I'll keep it in mind [04:33]
zakorus123: turns out i am gonna be buying alot of ecu today [07:46]
zakorus123: is jurov here [07:46]
zakorus123: nvm guess i cant [09:13]
zakorus123: good night [09:33]
mircea_popescu: http://logs.minigame.bz/2016-05-07.log.html#t08:15:10 << logic :D [11:39]
lobbesbot: Title: #Eulora log for Saturday, 2016-05-07 (at logs.minigame.bz) [11:39]
mircea_popescu: nice inflamatory butthurt, but in practical terms : freeloaders that miss out, miss out. players wanting to play for free have an advantage the sooner they get to the playground ; later ones get less. this is the nature of being poor. [11:40]
mircea_popescu: meanwhile, if you're not poor exactly nothing changed. [11:41]
mircea_popescu: eulora is not, and very pointedly so, some sort of welfare mechanism through which the poor of this world catch up with the rich of this world. eulora is now and will strictly remain a venue for people who can afford to spend a quarter an hour for their entertainment to be entertained in excess of anything their quarter could purchase anywhere else. [11:42]
mircea_popescu: this creates a little space for poor people to dance for nickels. the supply of nickels is fixed ; the headcount of poor people is driven by their own choices, and in principle may tend to infinity. [11:43]
mod6: indeed, Sir. [11:46]
mod6: It'd be intersting to see, I think. the game play put in by yourself, hanbot, dpb, and diana versus myself. i hardly play at all. but I've been in there for some time. [11:47]
mod6: I think I'm near level 80. [11:47]
mod6: But the difference is, I dont expect to be able to rapid level to 400. where did this idea even come from? the idea that someone could come in and be master of the universe in 3 weekends? [11:48]
mod6: :] [11:49]
mircea_popescu: and for free! [11:52]
mircea_popescu: if you think you're THAT lucky, go take out three tinies, worth a billion each and there you go, what. [11:53]
mircea_popescu: http://logs.minigame.bz/2016-05-07.log.html#t08:27:11 << tools ARE the basic game mechanic. [12:01]
mircea_popescu: there is no such thing as "boosters". if there were, people'd just buy the booster and then that would become the basic game mechanic. [12:01]
mircea_popescu: economy is economy is economy. [12:01]
lobbesbot: Title: #Eulora log for Saturday, 2016-05-07 (at logs.minigame.bz) [12:01]
mircea_popescu: AUCTION : 500 SA, d 15048, 10.5mn heard hanbot ; 5 stacks lbn, q 285, 7.5mn heard hanbot . ETA 17:00 ART [12:06]
mircea_popescu: bout 4 hours to go. [12:06]
mircea_popescu: and in other news : selling DS sortage books, 100k a pop. [12:06]
mircea_popescu: DS means it'll take you up to level 100. [12:06]
danielpbarron: should clarify, a single book won't bring you from an arbitrary rank all the way to 100, but that multiple books can be used to gain ranks that eventually caps at 100 [12:08]
mircea_popescu: a yes. each book yields a level ; if you're under 100 [12:09]
j-dawg: where's teh drama? [12:54]
j-dawg: i read scrollback, don't see no revolution [12:54]
mircea_popescu: you're hard to satisfy! [12:55]
diana_coman: mircea_popescu, 11mn on the sa, 8mn on the lbn [14:55]
diana_coman: uhm, if the auction is still on actually [14:55]
mircea_popescu: bout an hour to go yea [14:56]
diana_coman: cool, just got to go through the logs and all [14:56]
mircea_popescu: AUCTION : 500 SA, d 15048, 11mn heard diana_coman ; 5 stacks lbn, q 285, 8mn heard diana_coman . ETA 17:00 ART [14:56]
mircea_popescu: :p [14:56]
danielpbarron: mircea_popescu, 11.5 mn the sa, 8.5 the lbn [15:10]
mircea_popescu: AUCTION : 500 SA, d 15048, 11.5mn heard danielpbarron ; 5 stacks lbn, q 285, 8.5mn heard danielpbarron ETA 17:00 ART [15:10]
mircea_popescu: darn. makes me sorry i dun have any more. [15:10]
diana_coman: 9mn on the lbn mircea_popescu [15:15]
mircea_popescu: AUCTION : 500 SA, d 15048, 11.5mn heard danielpbarron ; 5 stacks lbn, q 285, 9mn heard diana_coman ETA 17:00 ART [15:16]
Birdman: mircea_popescu ill take a book [16:39]
Birdman: slowly getting a pile of tlc too [16:40]
Birdman: probably get ~ 15 a day [16:41]
Birdman: also i logged back on to being at the orb somehow [16:44]
Birdman: and barehanding for a day gives me about 1/3 a level [16:44]
Birdman: so i guess its time to shell out money for tools [16:45]
mod6: in Eulora, it seems to me that this whole auction thing could eventually turn into something really big. not that it isn't now... [16:51]
mod6: but someday there will be land ownership, and maybe because of that there could be insurance you could buy? and possibly even a futures market on ingame goods or commods? [16:52]
mod6: for a minute i got really excited about a constructed in game open out cry pit. [16:53]
mod6: *outcry [16:53]
mod6: this is a long ways off.. was just a thought while doing ze yard work [16:54]
mod6: does this even make sense? [16:54]
mod6: maybe the new otc or something similar [16:54]
diana_coman: hi mod6, how's it going? [17:10]
Birdman: yeah i've thought about that sort of stuff too mod6, eulora will eventually be the greatest game [17:10]
Birdman: with literal companies in game [17:11]
diana_coman: updated cookbook with bv, bundle values, built-in oc and a first go (text-only) at full craft graphs stuff, for example: http://www.dianacoman.com/Eulora/Leaky-Treebark-Flask.html [17:22]
diana_coman: bundle values are calculated from ingredients (where available) and as a second option taken from a list; base values are taken from list (since they are not necessarily the same as bundle values basically) [17:23]
diana_coman: obv, all is based on what info I gathered and wrote down so far in one way or another, so NOT complete by any means [17:24]
diana_coman: unspeakable tree horror indeed: file:///home/irina/Documents/eulora_dev/Unspeakable-Livresque-Horrors.html (it's not even complete as I'm missing the bp for questionable flagon!) [17:27]
mod6: hi diana_coman :] [17:33]
mod6: Birdman: yeah, could be quite the place in a half-decade or something [17:34]
diana_coman: hi mod6 ! [17:34]
mod6: how are you?! [17:34]
diana_coman: not bad, just running a bit in several directions at once as usual :)) [17:36]
mod6: haha, im sure. [17:36]
mod6: me too. [17:36]
diana_coman: I've been reading the log :D [17:36]
mod6: hahah. sorry i blew it up lastnight. [17:36]
mod6: i've been working on a ticketing system for trb related stuff. [17:36]
mod6: and now just trying out a new patch to add/dump private keys [17:37]
diana_coman: neah, no problem at all , it's usually me blowing up this log, so it was good to have someone else do it for a change :D [17:37]
mod6: i was thinking about your testing framework using mock. any luck with that thing? [17:37]
diana_coman: eh, more of a time problem there than luck stuff [17:37]
mod6: i wish I had like a few clones of myself, I could help you out with all this stuff more. [17:37]
mod6: yeah. [17:37]
mod6: totally. [17:37]
diana_coman: ahahaha, would love that for sure [17:40]
diana_coman: anyway, it still looks the best I saw for the task, so sticking with it, but this part is very slow moving atm [17:40]
mod6: hah. i've been thinking hard about trying to find a work from home gig. [17:41]
mod6: and if make that happen, I can probably throw more of my time around. at this current salt-mine, it's super hard to even read the log, let alone do a bunch of multitasking :/ [17:41]
diana_coman: what can I say, I already work from home fortunately, but somehow I could use a few clones of myself too , for sure [17:42]
mod6: :D [17:56]
mircea_popescu: Birdman trade me. [17:59]
mircea_popescu: mod6 seems likely yeah [17:59]
mircea_popescu: futures for resources seem a certainty seeing how crafters will need supplies secured. [17:59]
Birdman: headed to town now [18:00]
mod6: for sure Mr. P. [18:00]
mod6: just like farmers [18:00]
mod6: i'd be hip to put ecu on that [18:00]
mircea_popescu: diana_coman nice, but can't it look like pstree output ? [18:00]
mircea_popescu: (you can prolly lift the code directly from pstree source) [18:00]
diana_coman: I'll have to check that out [18:01]
mircea_popescu: dream come true eh Birdman [18:02]
Birdman: huh? also thanks [18:02]
mircea_popescu: wel you been wanting one for a while. [18:03]
mircea_popescu: o yeah this is very nice tree diana_coman [18:03]
Birdman: oh, definitely [18:03]
Birdman: more free money [18:03]
mircea_popescu: once you see the worn old screens tree is 80 lines deep, suddenly drives the complexity of eulora home. [18:04]
mircea_popescu: epic. [18:04]
Birdman: and thats just the shoddy stuff on the dismal island [18:05]
mircea_popescu: werd [18:08]
alikim: mircea: ok, I didn't know those books give only one level, I'll have to wait then till I can buy many of them [20:23]
alikim: btw do you know there is your stuff hanging in space out there? stumbled upon it accidentally [20:25]
danielpbarron: diana_coman, qf is 17-19 leather, 1-2 cordage, 4 shavings (the lower bound on leather might be wrong and i can't check it right now) [20:35]
Birdman: awh, picked up a boulder and it didnt mix, got excited for a second, dropped/picked it up and it mixed [21:49]
Birdman: alikim you may as well buy a book and rank it up in the meantime, it wont take long at all and if you're getting lots of smalls from tools then you'd be able to boost it to 100 pretty easy [22:04]
Birdman: and a tool for 3 or more levels, for awhile, is cheaper than 100k a level [22:09]
mircea_popescu: AUCTION : 500 SA, d 15048, 11.5mn heard danielpbarron ; 5 stacks lbn, q 285, 9mn heard diana_coman ETA 17:00 ART <<< won, come pick up [22:49]
mircea_popescu: yeah Birdman has a point, unless you're doing the whole 100 levels out of books you're much better off doing the last 50 than the first 50. [22:50]
mircea_popescu: this of course is not true throughout, levels are not actually monotonous. some later ones cost less than the previous ones. [22:50]
Birdman: das 570\% on them bits huh [23:06]
Birdman: 180 a pop for a bit over 30 bv bit [23:06]
Birdman: guess it makes sense for the top builder [23:06]
Birdman: question, tinkering and building basic resource claims give exp towards sortage right? [23:10]
Birdman: and if so does tinkering quality increase with it too? [23:10]
