mircea_popescu: /msg chanserv flags #eulora +o [04:14]
mircea_popescu: o nm. [04:15]
chetty: server reset in 5 [09:08]
chetty: done, server up [09:15]
mod6: nice [09:58]
chetty: hopefully the overweight issue is fixed and getting more info to see what caused a couple crashes yesterday :) [10:13]
mod6: logging helps :] [10:14]
mod6: yeah, the few times that I think i crashed it recently, I was mining. [10:14]
chetty: yup, its just a matter of what to log, the dtata can be overwhelming [10:15]
mod6: and the meter bar didn't come up for some reason. then i might have waited 5-10 seconds then hit it again, then boom. [10:15]
mod6: im sure it is a lot of data to look at on the serverside. [10:15]
chetty: well last two crashes had something to do with getting the weight of an item, but thats as far as my record shows, so keeping a lot more about that now. [10:16]
mod6: ah. yeah crashes im talking about were 2+ days ago [10:17]
chetty: ah well those were mostly key related, and should be fixed now [10:18]
mod6: ah cool, good deal. [10:24]
diana_coman: chetty, if it helps at all, the last time I saw it crashing today I was dropping those bits of nothing that were substituted for keys... [11:03]
mod6: oh was that what those crummy ones were for? had a charge of -1? or w/e? [11:04]
mod6: saw some in my inv lastnight [11:05]
chetty: thanks diana_coman I added a bunch of logging to track what item, I guess I'll see soon [11:05]
chetty: yeah keys get turned into lil bits now [11:05]
chetty: useful for beginers maybe and easy enough to throw away [11:05]
mod6: ok [11:06]
jurov: i confirm they can be used for mining [11:08]
chetty: did you all see MPs bot description? [11:16]
mod6: for irc? [11:21]
jurov: i dunno about bot. i was irc plugin, not a bot [11:22]
mod6: oh... this: trilema.com/2015/mouse-keyboard-automation-for-linux/ [11:22]
mod6: neat! [11:23]
mod6: im making a pick axe and this will help as im tarpitted hard. [11:23]
mod6: bbl. [11:23]
jurov: i tried some other proggy for replaying input but it did not work [11:26]
jurov: somehow never stumbled on this [11:26]
chetty: he left it running and he ran out of supplies, didnt hurt anything [11:49]
mod6: cool [13:11]
mircea_popescu: it occurs to me mod6 that automatioon won't likely work [14:07]
mircea_popescu: because youll prolly get a skill level every click [14:07]
mircea_popescu: pity to waste em [14:07]
mod6: ahh. [14:08]
mod6: the way to automate this stuff i think is still workable. and really handy. [14:09]
mircea_popescu: yeh [14:09]
mircea_popescu: i think it should be usable for mining, at least somewhat. since it takes keys too [14:10]
mircea_popescu: make it do say a spiral pattern, then come back later mine the claims. [14:10]
mircea_popescu: maybe not ideal ... [14:10]
mod6: ahhhh [14:10]
mod6: yeah, there's some creativity involved isn't there [14:11]
mircea_popescu: well sure. [14:11]
mircea_popescu: these are, after all, computers. [14:11]
mod6: i like it! :D [14:15]
mod6: this is gonna be awesome when spinning threads, making slags, etc. [14:18]
mod6: (unless you level up inbetween) [14:19]
mod6: but yah. very f'ing cool. [14:19]
mircea_popescu: :D [14:21]
mircea_popescu: the best part is - now that crafting takes time, a single crafter can't monopolize all the trade. [14:21]
mircea_popescu: so even if you are not the absolute best - still a job for you out there, because even working 24/7 top crafter can't spin enouigh thread for ALL the miners. [14:21]
mircea_popescu: plus all the other stuff that needs done. [14:21]
mod6: yeah, with me strip mining, it was keeping you and Foxy pretty preoccupied. imagine if 5 more were doing like me. this is better. [14:22]
mod6: plus, everyone needs to get good at all these jobs. [14:22]
mod6: ANNNND I just made my first automated Pointy Clump of Slag, with a proper delay for the timer & stacked! [14:23]
mircea_popescu: wd! [14:23]
mircea_popescu: thing is, game saves window position [14:23]
mircea_popescu: so if you don't fuck with it you're good forever. [14:23]
mod6: yup. just gotta leave the windows where they are. [14:24]
mircea_popescu: not that it's hard to record a new set or anything. takes 5 seconds [14:24]
mod6: im gonna try and talk in there for a sec see if it messes with anything. [14:24]
mod6: yeah, the recording part works well. [14:24]
mircea_popescu: anyway, atm my guy is making thread - i think ~500 thread / hour is the best he can do. [14:24]
mircea_popescu: this means that the most i can turn out in a day, non stop work, would be 12k. which is enough for ~2k small claims [14:25]
mod6: that's fantastic [14:25]
mircea_popescu: meanwhile a miner working non stop gets about 50-100 of those an hour. [14:25]
mircea_popescu: so it can basically... keep up with one miner. will need a diff crafter to keep up with the miner's tool [14:25]
mircea_popescu: (obviously, nobody does 24/7, but as an idea) [14:25]
mod6: right [14:26]
jurov: mircea_popescu: hackedteam files uploaded, see readme there [14:26]
mod6: for me, im like getting 6-7:1 tiny:small claims [14:26]
mircea_popescu: danke jurov! [14:26]
mod6: presumably would converge as i get higher up [14:26]
mircea_popescu: mod6 ikr ? and it's what, 10 or so tries a minute, 50 say an hour. [14:27]
mircea_popescu: but also your qual is what yet, 70 ? [14:27]
mod6: yeah like 71 on the latest stuff i've gotten [14:27]
mircea_popescu: moreover, a) threads are used for other things - you need for instance 3/leaky bottle ; b) if there's better tools there'll be more smalls etc. [14:27]
mircea_popescu: if you're going to cook you need iirc 7*3*3 like 60-70 for the harness [14:28]
mod6: yeah, i certainly noticed that in the last day or so. having the improved tools was much > yield than with plain stone pickaxe [14:29]
mircea_popescu: later mining also needs a ton because of the trestlework [14:29]
mircea_popescu: bashing this here : [15:21]
mircea_popescu: <williamdunne> mircea_popescu: I didn't know about #eurola, I'll join [15:21]
mircea_popescu: <williamdunne> Ehhh I appear to me on my own in #eurola [15:21]
mircea_popescu: <mircea_popescu> also try dylsexia. [15:21]
mod6: :D [15:24]
chetty: oh is your poor bot playing alone? [15:28]
mircea_popescu: possibru [15:28]
mircea_popescu: he doesn't mind tho. happily threading threadsa by himself [15:28]
mircea_popescu: while humming a song [15:28]
mircea_popescu: to himself [15:28]
mircea_popescu: lalala [15:28]
mod6: haha [15:29]
mod6: im working on altering my script so that i get training after every item crafted [15:30]
mircea_popescu: o.O [15:30]
mircea_popescu: you gonna publish this jewel ? [15:30]
mod6: it's easy really. just have the windows up. move items in, combine, wait, take & stack, click Stats & skills window (previously opened behind container window), buy training, click back on the container window to bring to forefront. repeat. [15:32]
chetty: wow impressive [15:40]
mircea_popescu: ayup. powerful tool. [15:42]
mircea_popescu: jsut, ends up with a lenghty script [15:42]
mod6: yeah [15:42]
mod6: i'd say about 30\% of the time since the last update, i'm not getting my bundles converted into items. [16:57]
mod6: even when tinkering manually. [16:57]
mod6: which kinda hurts, cause even though all you have to do to resolve this is to move the bundle into a different cell, then work continues; but now, you've gotta wait the 3-5 minutes again. [16:58]
mod6: (and the meter bar never re-appears after you move it to a new cell) [16:58]
mod6: it /looks/ like it's not doing anything, but it is. [16:59]
chetty: be sure you have the work item properly targeted before you start [17:06]
chetty: (no changes have been maed to that process in a long while) [17:07]
mod6: im not sure exactly on that.... here's what I do (in the case of stone pickaxe): pick up goop, place in container, pick up branch place in container, pick up pointy slag, place in container, click combine button, wait for process to complete. [17:07]
mod6: most of the time this seems to work out fine. sometimes it doesnt and this was a bug before. [17:08]
mod6: but it wasn't as severe because you didn't have to wait a long time to have it build the item from the bundle. [17:08]
mod6: is there something in my prcess that i'm issing to "target" the item? [17:08]
mod6: well, last two manual builds, didn't see it. [17:14]
chetty: the system needs to know which 'container' you are using, depending how you click, and maybe if you tab out of game etc. it can lose that focus, to be safe right click on the conatianer again just before you click combine [17:14]
mod6: ooh. ok i'll do that and see if that makes a difference. [17:15]
mod6: thx chetty [17:15]
chetty: hope it helps, if not I'll go look at code and see if there is anyway to improve that [17:16]
mod6: sure, i'll give you an update on this by the end of the weekend. [17:16]
chetty: cool [17:16]
mod6: 4/5 times happened on tiny SR claims [17:28]
mircea_popescu: aaaaand... 2 hour grass braiding project begun [17:52]
mircea_popescu: mod6 i had this problem sporadically yest, but it magically abated somehow [17:53]
jurov: i am wearing down the tool, but no gathering exp [18:38]
jurov: same for everyone? [18:46]
mod6: it comes and goes like that for me jurov. sometimes it reports giving me exp, other times not. [20:49]
mod6: not totally sure if im getting them and it's just unreported, or if im not getting them at all. [20:50]
mod6: mircea_popescu: i'll see how it goes over the next few days. [20:50]
