chetty: I know I saw it once, where it doesnt say anything when you buy but all sorts of set up on my local and it always works fine :( [10:48]

diana_coman: it seems to be very random in the sense that I could never figure out some sort of condition that is common to when it happens [10:49]
diana_coman: but I do get it quite a lot it would seem [10:49]
chetty: well which category, did you already have some of the item? which way of buying (which button) [10:49]
diana_coman: initially I thought it has to do with the inventory being full or some such condition, but I got it in all sorts of situations [10:49]
diana_coman: again, I saw it for all sorts of items :( [10:50]
chetty: yeah I thought it was if you already had some, but I couldnt get it to happen here [10:50]
diana_coman: for instance a bit earlier I was buying flotsam and I had none [10:50]
diana_coman: still, it happened [10:50]
diana_coman: I bought some shiny rock too and it happened [10:50]
diana_coman: but it's not linked to the item itself as otherwise it worked fine :( [10:50]
diana_coman: it seems to be a very tricky one [10:51]
chetty: the other things was mod6 said when he bought something it popped back to the pick a category screen, cant get that to happen either [10:51]
diana_coman: that I haven't noticed/had [10:51]

diana_coman: what I can say is that at least lately when this happened, there was no update of the inventory either [10:51]
diana_coman: I had to close/open the inventory to see the items [10:51]

diana_coman: moreover, when the purchased items are fewer because of the inventory becoming full, it actually reports this correctly, but it still doesn't update the inventory/report anything else [10:52]
chetty: I did see a message roll by a couple minutes ago that it failed to delete some item from an inventory, not sure if it was yu or the merchant tho [10:52]
diana_coman: ah, no, that was something else entirely [10:53]

diana_coman: and the craft went fine, but then the container still held some of the initial items [10:53]
diana_coman: I could even select them and drag them to the inventory where they were finally deleted [10:53]
diana_coman: I did get this a couple of times before, but it's rather rare [10:54]
chetty: ahh ok, well I am watching to see if I can get a grip on where it is burping, I suppose I will find it eventually [10:54]
diana_coman: and again, I could never figure out any kind of clear pattern to it [10:54]
chetty: well t is a database system, I expect the occasional burp, long as it doesn't crash the server on biggy really [10:54]

diana_coman: ah, I wanted to ask you something: while reading about the ps client and code in general, I found lots of references to a potential issue with storage along the lines that it becomes inaccessible when you reach the storage limit which is set for each different type of item [11:03]
diana_coman: do you know whether this is indeed a potential issue? [11:03]
diana_coman: people were complaining that it doesn't show otherwise any storage limit [11:03]
diana_coman: so I had no clue as to how to check if this is still true or not [11:04]
chetty: well storage hasnt been messed with much here, inventory has been greatly expanded from ps tho [11:04]
diana_coman: (the references were not extremely recent, more like over the last few years) [11:04]
chetty: we didnt really plan for using storage, just didnt bother to remove access like I did for a lot of stuff [11:05]
diana_coman: tbh I think it would have been REALLY messy to start without any storage, lol [11:06]
chetty: well I always kinda thought people would use one of their early markers, they have a huge capacity [11:06]
diana_coman: but then those got swiped [11:07]
diana_coman: anyway, initially I thought that a used marker would get swiped off after a while even if locked [11:07]
chetty: well yeah but we would have left any that were being used like that, and they dont get swept up if they are locked [11:08]
diana_coman: I remember I kept getting warnings about items left in a marker even though it was locked [11:08]
diana_coman: something along the lines of "you probably shouldn't leave that there" [11:08]
diana_coman: they were getting annoying at some point, lol [11:08]
diana_coman: (I was carrying the things from the marker) [11:08]

chetty: yeah its like its losing its place when its stacking stuff you your inventory, not at all clear why this would only happen ...sometimes but I have good data now on where so I got a chance of tracking it down [11:17]

diana_coman: I just noticed it reports only "sold 4 for xx coppers" [11:23]
chetty: hmm let me look, I dont think anything got changed there but .. [11:27]

diana_coman: yesterday when I was toying around with the automated movement idea, I also ran into this sort of trouble [11:30]
diana_coman: seemingly random /puzzling errors [11:30]
diana_coman: not really sure why [11:30]
diana_coman: I thought they were more likely to be because of some race conditions on the server given how I was sending movement requests [11:31]
diana_coman: but well, I could not figure out too much really [11:31]
chetty: well that bit of code hasnt been touched in a long time so I dont know what to say [11:32]

diana_coman: hello HeySteve no, not all the keys, but the markers got before 11 June (or something around that date) are gone indeed [12:47]

chetty: more stuff slowly getting ironed out, markers left unlocked will get swept up so if you want to keep one, keep it locked [13:14]

chetty: no, we havent fooled with success chances at all [13:25]

mod6: anyway, sorry. i tried to bring a person I work with who wanted to play eulora, but couldn't apprently be bothered to genereate a key and get into the wot, even with my help. [16:06]

diana_coman: for anyone interested: I figured out the way to set shortcuts for any custom command you want in eulora client [16:07]
mod6: neither of these people are "friends" though. turns, out i don't have many irl friends that understand anything about computers farther than email/excel [16:07]

chetty: and if they do go for games its the eye candy type ..not somethng that requires thinking (shudder) [16:09]

diana_coman: scroll to the end of shortcuts (not very obvious at first) [16:11]
diana_coman: and add a new one, it will prompt for whatever command you want to give [16:11]

diana_coman: well, that's just a window and I think it probably got so messed up because it shows all the main stats but it was probably designed when there was only mana and health [16:15]
diana_coman: chetty, something interesting regarding that merchant bug: when I buy 1 item it doesn't seem to happen [16:30]
diana_coman: I had it in a row: bought 1 item fine, bought more (number given via keyboard) and it happened, bought 1 again fine and so on [16:30]
diana_coman: just in case it helps at all [16:30]
chetty: it is definately in the stacking of things so that makes sense [16:32]
mod6: is rackin up polished stones [16:32]
chetty: well original had mana health and the 2 kinds of stamina, but in adding and changing stats a lot of things got reordered :) [16:35]
diana_coman: it's probably somewhere in the xml files, so it shouldn't be that difficult to fix anyway, but well, it's not the most interesting thing now, lol [16:36]
chetty: yup, all the gui windows are xml [16:41]
diana_coman: so Mod gave me the key to the claim and the enum but I still can't harvest it as he guards it, lol [17:13]
diana_coman: maybe the first improvement to the client will be a "poke" command to ping one :))) [17:17]
