[10:27] Diana Coman: Welcome to the publicly logged Eulora 2 chat room!
[10:35] Diana Coman: with the publig log providing as well some anchoring in real life time, as arbitrary as the choice of the time zone might be. The log articles for this room are in the Eulora 2 in E2 log category on Ossasepia.
[11:03] Diana Coman: Felicia Solecrimp, if you mean an analogue/graphical clock for Eulora, go ahead and make the pics and design for it, and I’ll help you afterwards with the needed clientside window to showcase it, sure. Otherwise there already is a (digital) clock in E2 in that Console title, isn’t there?
[11:41] Diana Coman: for anyone curious about Eulora 2 and/or wanting to try it out, there’s the Eulora 2 entry page for a place to start.
[13:16] Raphael Nethersmell: http://ossasepia.com/2026/01/19/Eulora-2-Logs-for-Jan-2026/#3946 — nice !
[13:17] Raphael Nethersmell: i gather there’s not an npc to quote log links quite yet.
[13:32] Diana Coman: Raphael Nethersmell, not yet, though I might add it if it’s needed
[13:32] Raphael Nethersmell: sounds good.
[15:57] Vivian Sporepress: *waves*
[15:59] Diana Coman: welcome Vivian Sporepress
[16:03] Vivian Sporepress: Raphael Nethersmell: yes I’m still training up ziggurating, from time to time. LBN range requirements fluctuate slightly as you noted.
[16:07] Vivian Sporepress: Diana Coman: the updated client readme looked good, my exact (x)ubuntu version is 24.04.1 LTS
[16:07] Vivian Sporepress: perhaps worth highlighting that the updater needs the same edit as the installer.
[16:08] Diana Coman: oh huh, they already upped it to the 25.* when I looked recently, so I’ll have to update it in there, thanks for letting me know.
[16:09] Vivian Sporepress: semiannual update schedule so yeah, but this is still the latest ‘long-term’.
[16:28] Vivian Sporepress: Diana Coman: looking at http://ossasepia.com/foxybots-eulora/ I see a “6 Comments” link but it doesn’t seem to go anywhere and I don’t see them
[16:29] Vivian Sporepress: what were the e1 reasons for locking larger claims or dropping keys into smaller claims?
[16:35] Diana Coman: yeah, there used to be comments on pages too at some point but they were quite a pita and somewhere on the way they got dropped.
[16:39] Diana Coman: Larger claims require more ingredients than just lbn and cft to build, so people generally didn’t have everything with them for such claims, hence they would lock them instead of build them so they had some time to go and get what was needed, come back, unlock and build. (In e1 there was no ownership as such, so an unlocked claim could be built by anyone at all, one had to lock it to make sure nobody else just built it while they were away). Moreoveor, there was as well at least some belief that locked claims have a longer life before they vanish, so there was some locking to this end as well, to maybe have it around for longer if one wasn’t yet ready to build it.
[16:40] Diana Coman: as to putting keys in the claim, e1 had a limited number of slots in the inventory so keeping keys wasn’t quite as easy as it is in e2. And there was no stacking nor multi-step bot to tidy up whenever possible, either
[16:42] Diana Coman: so sometimes people would just throw away the keys, putting them in the claim simply as it was easier to do it bot-side (the poor bot in e1 didn’t have such an easy life in terms of how it could act in the world since the world was made for the eye first, not really for the mind and moreover, kind of anti-bot if anything – so every step there was more towards gradually building up the needed handlers to even be able to automate anything)
[16:52] Vivian Sporepress: I see
[16:54] Diana Coman: Vivian Sporepress, the readme is now updated with both the xubuntu version you used and the (multiple!) notices to change both the install and the updater if any changes are required
[17:10] Vivian Sporepress: looks fine. I can be available to support potential players in getting started from the IRC side, perhaps for those still intimidated by the rigours of reading shell scripts, asking clear questions and such
[19:19] Diana Coman: Vivian Sporepress, noted and thanks, we will see, perhaps the comment form on the blog is easiest first contact but if anyone prefers or finds their way to IRC, why not.
[20:59] Diana Coman: Ulrich Logfetch where are you?
[20:59] Ulrich Logfetch: Diana Coman, I am currently at 24.76, 98.69-4.53 in Preposterously Prosperous Place
[21:00] Diana Coman: there we go, all NPC service providers will provide their current location when asked as above. Do note that it’s *only* when asked *exactly* as above, they are NPCs after all.
[21:03] Diana Coman: Wolfgang Middlesit where are you?
[21:03] Wolfgang Middlesit: Diana Coman, I am currently at -22.86 99.87 -18.81 in Preposterously Prosperous Place

[03:51] Felicia Solecrimp: thats an amazing feauture I love it!
[04:22] Vivian Sporepress: Wolfgang Middlesit wo bist du?
[04:23] Vivian Sporepress: Stephen Felinesmooch where are you?
[04:23] Vivian Sporepress: minding his own smooching, I imagine.
[08:22] Diana Coman: well, service providers only, the rest of the NPCs mind their privacy!
[09:15] Diana Coman: there is now an external log for Notices and Announcements as well, with our towncrier, Monroe Quarterslit, adding to his duties to provide in there some record of new developments as they happen (or at least close enough to as they happen, he is doing what he can!)
[16:06] Felicia Solecrimp: wo ist ihr Wolfgang ?
Day changed to 2026-01-21
[01:18] Felicia Solecrimp: Wie viel kostet das? Wolfgang Jelly eew
[13:54] Raphael Nethersmell: I commented out the 2 relevant lines in the install script and successfully replicated the build on xubuntu 24.04.2 LTS
[14:18] Diana Coman: Raphael Nethersmell, that’s great to know, thanks!
[17:43] Felicia Solecrimp: Thanks Raphael !
[21:59] Wolfgang Middlesit: Nestor Nethercross, that’s worth about 1.8k shells more than what you’re offering.
Day changed to 2026-01-22
[14:37] Diana Coman: from big-studio gaming, Ubisoft reportedly closed down even more studios/branches and binned quite a few planned releases including some Prince of Persia remake of all things. Apparently even endless remakes are too expensive to make and the next rush is now on for “open world adventure games” and “live service games which seek regular payments from players”. Anyone cares to guess just how much of these will be AI-everything? But very cinematic everything, I’m sure. Given the billions thrown at it and the even more billions they aim to make in return, I imagine there will be no respite from all the assorted merchandise and everything else on top, too – kind of wonder just what the backlash of such deluge will be in the end.
[14:55] Diana Coman: to be clear as well, while Eulora 2 certainly uses money and aims to become self-supporting overall including but not limited to the financial aspect, its focus is on creating and maintaining *meaning* for, through and by its players first of all, not on extracting billions from players to pay back and pay further to various “investment groups”. People always have a choice as it were.

[18:19] Diana Coman: http://ossasepia.com/2026/01/19/Eulora-2-Logs-for-Jan-2026/#3951 – now there is!
[18:19] Ulrich Logfetch: Quoting 2026-01-19 (Eulora 2) Raphael Nethersmell: i gather there’s not an npc to quote log links quite yet.
[18:32] Raphael Nethersmell: http://ossasepia.com/2026/01/19/Eulora-2-Logs-for-Jan-2026/#3989 – and with the bot-outta-the-box, eulora clearly doesn’t aim to extract time from the players ethier, which is a stark contrast to the lamestream games.
[18:32] Ulrich Logfetch: Quoting 2026-01-22 (Eulora 2) Diana Coman: to be clear as well, while Eulora 2 certainly uses money and aims to become self-supporting overall including but not limited to the financial aspect, its focus is on creating and maintaining *meaning* for, through and by its players first of all, not on extracting billions from players to pay back and pay further to various “investment groups”. [18:33] Raphael Nethersmell: quite the fortutious diceroll on Ulrich Logfetch’s name.
[18:53] Raphael Nethersmell: eh, fortuitous*
[20:13] Diana Coman: Indeed, not aiming to extract at all. And Logfetch indeed, possibly the dice truly roll in euloran ways!

[03:19] Raphael Nethersmell: Rainer Tracksnarl where are you ?
[09:22] Diana Coman: Rainer Tracksnarl where are you?
[09:22] Rainer Tracksnarl: Diana Coman, I am currently at -18.80 97.41 35.56 in Preposterously Prosperous Place
[09:24] Diana Coman: Raphael Nethersmell, no space before the question mark, it’s a very strict match there currently.
[13:21] Raphael Nethersmell: got it, thanks.
[18:10] Felicia Solecrimp: I forgot with who we train the npc
[18:11] Felicia Solecrimp: oh ulricht
[18:11] Felicia Solecrimp: Ulrich Logfetch where are you ?

[15:40] Felicia Solecrimp: bis bald
[15:41] Felicia Solecrimp: guten morgen
[15:42] Felicia Solecrimp: I have problems training is not training
[15:51] Diana Coman: eh, Ulrich Logfetch is busy, as there’s only one trainer and multiple players attempting to train. Either let the bot insist until you catch a slot or …check back later until similar.
[20:10] Felicia Solecrimp: oh okay thank you i wasnt seeing the others so I wasnt sure
Day changed to 2026-01-26
[16:04] Vivian Sporepress: ulrich can do training at a distance!
[16:05] Vivian Sporepress: just that the commute is still required to get his attention
[16:14] Diana Coman: otherwise it would quite suck to have to explore next to where he is at any given time really
[16:19] Vivian Sporepress: interesting re ubisoft. “The closure of Ubisoft Halifax was previously announced in January – the same week the studio formed a union” – lolz
[16:20] Vivian Sporepress: and apparently now there’s more players than ever on …runescape, with paid subscriptions up 30% last year to over 1M
[16:22] Diana Coman: well, if it’s what the consumers come to expect, why not
[19:10] Felicia Solecrimp: I like runescape because of the graphics and also is kind of an adventure game and i also think is quite easy to play
[21:34] Felicia Solecrimp: Vivian Sporepress are you there hun?
[21:35] Vivian Sporepress: ohai Felicia Solecrimp
[21:37] Vivian Sporepress: can I give you these CDG to carry to storage?
[21:39] Felicia Solecrimp: yes Im going to make another exchange with you
[21:39] Felicia Solecrimp: so i can carry them
[21:39] Vivian Sporepress: great; and why’d you give me the pss enums?
[21:40] Felicia Solecrimp: btw i send you an email today of something of arbeitensie
[21:40] Felicia Solecrimp: because i wanted too
[21:41] Felicia Solecrimp: im going to save them
[21:42] Vivian Sporepress: meet at my tree x=-25 z=-30
[21:44] Felicia Solecrimp: Im here
[21:45] Felicia Solecrimp: do i put them down?
[21:45] Felicia Solecrimp: or do we exchange them?
[21:46] Vivian Sporepress: exchange (don’t think I can pick them up if you drop them)
[21:49] Vivian Sporepress: having trouble?
[21:50] Felicia Solecrimp: waiting for you to accept
[21:51] Vivian Sporepress: hm, I still haven’t seen any items offered or locked
[21:53] Felicia Solecrimp: the exchange doesnt open can you maybe start it please?
[21:54] Vivian Sporepress: it still opens here
[21:55] Vivian Sporepress: looks expired now, will retry.
[21:58] Felicia Solecrimp: nothing so far i wonder if everything is okay
[22:00] Vivian Sporepress: maybe too many players and claims around here saturating the client’s data gathering capacities. we’ll have to try some other time
[22:00] Vivian Sporepress: of course now I can’t even move because the blocked exchange is still open…
[22:04] Felicia Solecrimp: oh no
[22:04] Felicia Solecrimp: sorry
[22:04] Felicia Solecrimp: im going to have lunch brb
[22:05] Vivian Sporepress: Diana Coman: for a small improvement, would it be possible to have a click on the exchange notification only ever reopen the window for that existing exchange rather than requesting a new one every time? I think I’ve seen that sometimes creating unwanted new exchanges when the client gets behind on things
[22:06] Vivian Sporepress: and if there’s a way to do that from CLI I haven’t found it either, examine t= doens’t work and exchange takes the player ID of course
[23:27] Felicia Solecrimp: guys no water on saturday and sunday because of chilibre
[23:49] Felicia Solecrimp: I got a glitch on my game the exchange i had hours ago with vivian hasnt dissapear yet D:
[23:54] Felicia Solecrimp: and I havent been able to do an exchange for a couple of hours this worry me a little :c
Day changed to 2026-01-27
[00:22] Vivian Sporepress: Felicia Solecrimp: Diana Coman has mentioned the client needing some more internal cleanup of old/expired exchange notifications but it shouldn’t affect further functioning. and remember to please be more specific when reporting problems – I see you’re over by Rainer Tracksnarl so I guess you tried with him, how far did it get or what happened?
[00:27] Vivian Sporepress: I just exchanged with him OK.
[08:14] Diana Coman: Vivian Sporepress, I’ll have a look for some re-open without resend on the exchange. The likely trouble is that once that is in, people will want exactly what there isn’t anymore, aka a resend, of course.
[08:15] Diana Coman: Felicia Solecrimp, that glitch with pending notifications is clientside only, i.e. it’s just a ghost thing anyhow, not really affecting anything else otherwise (and you can check via a ls from console if you want to). It’s on the list to look at next time I work on the client but otherwise if it’s in the way, you can always just restart the client and it should be gone.
[08:18] Diana Coman: the sum-up of runescape sounds just about right – it’s basically…convenient, that’s all.
[22:45] Vivian Sporepress: I guess I’ve had a different view of convenience for quite a while. “no need to install anything” except I need to install Java? on *my* computer?!
[22:48] Vivian Sporepress: I probably ended up doing more gaming in WINE, which is bad enough, than in Java
[22:50] Vivian Sporepress: but in ziggurating results, I’ve managed to build CDG up to q85, and RF up to q48; results not very replicable but still.
[22:50] Felicia Solecrimp: Ulrich Logfetch where are you ?
[22:51] Felicia Solecrimp: Ulrich Logfetchwhereareyu
[22:57] Felicia Solecrimp: Ulrich Logfetch where are you?
[22:57] Ulrich Logfetch: Felicia Solecrimp, I am currently at 34.24 98.31 -5.50 in Preposterously Prosperous Place
[23:08] Vivian Sporepress: and my storage usage is shaping up something like: lump together the bulk of mid-level quality items in the EOJ, with just a few stacks of the extremes, q1 and highest, in EJI/II to stave off entropy.
Day changed to 2026-01-28
[08:28] Diana Coman: Vivian Sporepress, that’s a very good point on what convenience means depending on where you are coming from, indeed. The common meaning though is simply “requires least effort in the moment” so as long as the installation is done through a couple of clicks, it can be pretty much anything otherwise from the convenience point of view. Just as any food is basically popular as long as it’s cheap and nevermind what it contains or what it does to those eating it in the longer term and so on.
[08:30] Diana Coman: Felicia Solecrimp, is it really that difficult to write one line instead of 3 out of which 2 are just noise? For the record, there is already in place a filtering mechanism based on WoT ratings but I would hope it doesn’t become actually needed all that soon.
[08:31] Diana Coman: Vivian Sporepress, oh hey, cdg q85 is quite good, I’d certainly pay better than Rainer Tracksnarl on that if it’s in any useful quantities (at least a few k of it would be best)
[08:36] Diana Coman: funny effect of that starving notification – it ends up blinking even, when there is any window overlapping it (since it’s checked and updated with high frequency to provide quick feedback)
[08:47] Diana Coman: meanwhile the client seems quite ripe to extract finally some knowledge wrt ziggurat/tinkering, aka the blueprints’ contents, paving the way hopefully for some further bot support for these activities too
[16:09] Diana Coman: Vivian Sporepress, the latest client deployment includes as well the wanted change so that clicking on a notification simply (re)opens the corresponding view/window without (re)sending any request to the server. To (re)send such a request, the player will have to do it explicitly, either from the Console (eg exchange or train commands) or from the GUI (eg the corresponding option in the right-click menu on their intended partner)
[16:09] Ulrich Logfetch: Quoting 2026-01-28 (Notices and Announcements) Monroe Quarterslit: **Euloran news: newly deployed client brings in automated knowledge acquisition for items in the Methods category, effectively building and maintaining an up-to-date library of required actions, ingredients, tools and containers.**
[16:11] Diana Coman: there are some added checks to hopefully clear out any lingering/ghost interactions with better reliability but this part is more difficult to fully test so if anyone using this latest client still experiences such troubles with any Notifications that won’t go away, please let me know of it.
[16:16] Diana Coman: on the newly added knowledge base, I’ll add that it’s effectively bringing into the game the start towards an integrated, personalised and self-updating e2 version of that old Cookbook I made for Eulora 1. Though ofc it will be of use to each player only to the extent that their character gets to see any methods (even if they don’t own them, it’s enough if it’s in range and visible as it were) and otherwise to the extent that the human player puts that knowledge to use, as always.
[16:28] Diana Coman: to check the contents of this proc(esses) knowledge base, you can either look at its txt file on disk in the usual data/knowledge/ or otherwise check the new option for the m parameter of the kw command. Note that the contents are indexed by the shc of the recipe/blueprint/whatever-it-is since that is the only reliable unique key, so you’ll need for instance kw m=proc t=tcre to see the entry for the Tiny Crumbly Rock Ennumeration
[16:32] Diana Coman: and for anyone looking for some rewarding but still accessible improvements to make to the client, there are of course an increasing number of potential combinations of the information in the different knowledge maps so as to better support the player in figuring out what is most worth doing with what they have at any given time. This direction is only set to increase further, too, so it’s not just a one off thing either.
[16:36] Raphael Nethersmell: ahoy from the new client !
[16:41] Diana Coman: oh hey, thanks for trying it out, Raphael Nethersmell, let me know how it works.
Day changed to 2026-01-29
[16:10] Raphael Nethersmell: anyone find anything interesting recently ? i found a patch of wpl, where prior I was only finding one offs. also cashed in a big pile of ae, which yielded my first full copper + some change on top to boot. based on the [http://ossasepia.com/Eulora/resources.html[e1 harvestable resources] list, I’ve found everything up to ae, next most valuable for me to find is eps, then dcs.
[17:44] Diana Coman: Raphael Nethersmell, that change from one offs to patch of wpl sounds interesting, any hypothesis as to why/how come? I’ve found some more ords but they keep requiring rare resources that nobody found yet and then on top, quite a lot of them as my char reads that enum, too. So not much to do about it atm other than hope either someone finds those rare resources or Rainer Tracksnarl gets a shipment of ord bundles perhaps…
[17:45] Diana Coman: I mapped a bit out of one of the sectors next to PPP as well but so far just the usuals. Otherwise my highest value find would be the dm I think.
[17:59] Raphael Nethersmell: I don’t have a theory as to why the showed up as a patch, other than I’ve gone through and explored in lots of maps. I found it quite a ways away from ye old PPP. I found the ae & the sg patches and also a patch of sm all outside the 1st ring around PPP. the ae & sg I found before the bot was in the client.
[18:03] Diana Coman: not quite sure how would one’s exploration overall radius truly impacted what one found in a previous spot unless it was rather more indirectly through the skill gained in some way
[18:04] Diana Coman: from what you say though, it sounds like the outer sectors may have some more of the non-basics or more easily accessible there
[18:06] Diana Coman: I guess I really need to get some proper ziggurating + crafting going on to make it worthwhile to use tools and then get some actual demand moving too
[18:18] Raphael Nethersmell: yeah, I just meant that I went far to find them. I found all these basehanded too. Vivian Sporepress said afk he found ss in ppp. only a one off though.
[18:21] Diana Coman: well, the trusty bot-map says there was even lh found by someone in ppp indeed, though certainly just one claim that it managed to see so far. Looking at the emerging resources map though, it’s quite clear that the patches overlap to some extent, eg there’s CR quite central but with NT sprinkled within and going beyond it to the north, while having a “missing” side given over to boulders apparently
[18:23] Diana Coman: and it’s funny to me how I recall rather struggling to find a large-enough patch of cdg to get some reasonable quantity although looking now at the map I suspect I just didn’t quite know where to go, as there is quite a large patch of cdg in the southern part, even if it has some CR sprinkled about
[18:59] Raphael Nethersmell: I think Vivian Sporepress had some intel on who found the lh, but it wasn’t him.
Day changed to 2026-01-30
[16:18] Diana Coman: possibly Nestor Nethercross found the lh
[16:19] Diana Coman: in hardships of serving NPCs, apparently Ulrich Logfetch might need to enforce breaks from providing training so he doesn’t end up dead of exhaustion by the looks of it
[16:20] Diana Coman: I guess the secondary skills will need to come with additional NPC trainers too, to give poor Ulrich Logfetch a break
[20:04] Diana Coman: in euloran economics, the first report on euloran activity during past month is public now.
[20:04] Ulrich Logfetch: Quoting 2026-01-30 (Notices and Announcements) Monroe Quarterslit: ** Euloran economic activity during one month to day 00 of month 04, year 6 (era 1): PCs’ held value in items increased by 4`349 and their cash increased by 2`217; NPCs’ held value in items increased by 10`133 and their cash decreased by 2`217; environment value decreased by 644`694. **

[09:24] Diana Coman: Raphael Nethersmell, no space before the question mark, it’s a very strict match there currently.
[13:21] Raphael Nethersmell: got it, thanks.
[18:10] Felicia Solecrimp: I forgot with who we train the npc

[22:06] Vivian Sporepress: and if there’s a way to do that from CLI I haven’t found it either, examine t=
